I'm in a boy scout troop. (gasp!) and A year ago, one of our leaders had made arrangements for us to go on this once in a lifetime opportunity to do this trek thing: we go to utah, hike 25 miles over 4 days, all the while living like mormon pioneers. The original cost would've been about 475 per person, but we had raised enough at a recent fundraiser to cut the price to 75 per boy. Aside from this, there was an initial 1000$ to the company, and 300$ to the bus company to get us from California to Utah.
Everything was going smoothly, and the trek was to set out on monday. Monday, as in, four days.
Then, I recieve new, that the guy incharge of settign all this up was looking up the prices for extra things, like flint/steel fire learning, that kind of stuff. All fo a sudden, the man who works there says, "Oh, by the way, our policies have changed. There is now a minimum requirement of 50 people to go on the trek."
Not too bad, right? Well, we have less than 30 people going.
The guy in charge put his foot down, argued, and the man said, "well, if you have less, you only have to pay for 40 people".
no. We're nto paying for people who aren't going. Besides, we had made our arrangements before they had changed their policies, so this is very unfair.
I mean... isn't it?
I'ma gonna have to wait until monday to find out If I ever do go on this trek![Frown :( :(](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
(oh, it's once in a lifetime because the group in charge of our big troop activities doesn't allow us to go out of state for another 10 years. By then, everyone in our troop will be out of scouts. pff.)
