No idea what happened, but I left my computer idle for 5 minutes. I come back and press a button on my keyboard and *locking sound* *beepbeepbeepbeepbeep*.

I'm thinking it has something to do with my CPU still, but I am not sure. When I go to turn on my computer, all it does is beep and doesn't load a thing.

What has happened to my precious?

I think it crashed.

Seriously though, beeping is a RAM error most of the time. You might wanna check. See if it beeps with the ram taken out.

Helpful advice, Ace :P

But seriously though, check with your motherboard's guide/manual and try to match up the beeping you have up to the guide's description about beeps coming from within the motherboard.

Most motherboard manufacturers have an online guide that explains the BIOS beeps.

Sort of the same thing happened to me. This is what I did:

First, get your MB manual, or look it up online. Find the three pronged jumper which a cover should be over two of them. Next find the CMOS battery; it looks like a watch battery. Carefully pop that sucker out. It might require some haggling, but it will come out. Once that's out, move the cover on the three pronged jumper over one so it covers the middle one and the previously uncovered prong. Leave it like that for about 20 seconds. Now move it back. Wait about 5 minutes before putting the battery back in place. Now try to boot up your machine.

It worked for me.

I've had something like that happen to me on my old PC recently. I was getting memory errors when I had my memory timings too tight and it would often freeze at the desktop when left on for awhile. Really it could be anything but just do some troubleshooting.

When I read the thread title, I was under the impression that you had some "news" that would affect the community, and ME, in a negative way. But it was nothing but false advertising, and trickery. I leave you to your thread of lies.

Tried, but it didn't work. :(

If this will help any, it is an MSI K8N-Neo4F. It does one continuous *beepbeepbeepbeepbeep* when I start it.

It doesn't? :|

Either you don't have the right manual, or MSI is really crappy.

Though it's probably your ram that's causing you errors. Do you have experience with computer parts? Like, can you take out the ram and see what happens?

Do I have experience with computer parts... What kind of question is that!? I thought you knew me better than that Brick.. :(

I've tried cleaning the heatsink from the dust emporium that was on there, I tried both sticks of ram as singles, and I've tried what Travis suggested and nothing worked.

Sorry, but I suck at remembering personal stuff. :( You'll mostly find me in hardware and software because that's pretty much the only forum where I know my stuff.
HUG

Anyway, does the mainboard beep the same (or at all) if there is no ram in it? Both sticks could be dead.

EDIT: Hmm I just checked the manual from the link I gave. Did you install that D-Bracket? It could be useful. It's on page 35 of the manual.

EDIT2: oh. gj

Heh..
I feel like the biggest jackass.

I solved my problem. I also inadvertently solved my heat problem.

Well, I researched the beeps online, and the continuous beep I was receiving was A) Problem with the Power Supply B) Problem with the Motherboard or C) A simple yet illogical Keyboard problem. Which do you think it was? :|

Remember a few posts back how I said I cleaned my heatsink? Well, when I started the computer up, I decided to see if my temperatures have went down because of the cleanliness of it.

My idle before was 52 C. It is now sitting at a cool 30 C.

I feel like a ****ing tool.
