I own an Audigy 2 which has been working perfectly fine. Until now. Last week I downloaded the newest drivers for my card right from Creatives website, and although I havn't had any problems with them right after installing I have suddenly had a major failure with my drivers. I can still play games and hear the sound but they are very prone to crashing and I can no longer play any MP3's since it gives me an error message saying I have bad directSound output drivers.

Is anyone else having this problem? If its just bad drivers from Creative then i'll just go back to what came in the box.

Im sure its bad drivers. I hear creative isnt the best with support and drivers.

I would just go back to the ones on the disk if it solves the problem.

Drivers for sure.
uninstall/reinstall
Should be all good.

That's the main reason I bought a SantaCruz back in the day.
The 2nd reason was digital sound.

Creative audigy probs...

Try downloading the recent fix in windows update, though im not sure it would apply to your soundcard, though it did work fine with my SB Live 5.1

Other then that, just roll back to your previous drivers.

Well I just reinstalled my old drivers and everything started working again. Guess I won't be downloading Creative drivers for a long time.

The newest drivers wouldn't work unless I manually uninstalled every trace of the old drivers first... which is a pain in the ass.

I installed the "new" drivers (this was about a month ago, not sure exactly when) right after they came out, and have had no problems with them since. Assuming they dont release drivers every month, i have the same drivers you are stuggling with. I have a audigy 2 regular.

I can DCC the not-so-old version with wich I have had no errors, exept in COD when I used EAX3 so I just used EAX 1 or 2 cant remember.

Anyways this is the version: AUD2DRVLB030425.exe

Just pm me in #halflife2.net on qnet its a bit over 6 mb. I was talking to a guy who had been unable to find them online maybe he didn't try hard enough?
