Ballmer opening his mouth again...

Surprisingly, Ballmer referred to the $345 million acquisition of Rare something "we're more excited about [today] than when we did the acquisition." Microsoft has been roundly disparaged for the pricey deal that has netted the top-tier games that were once expected.

Ha! Rare made goldeneye as some of you may know, but all the GOOD developers split off and formed "Free Radical" which has made all the PS2 games "Timesplitters" (+ sequels etc) and a few other good games too... Buying RARE sounds like a bad idea to me.

345 mill is wayyyyy overpriced. id say more around the 100 mill mark would be about right. theyre not exactly a publisher are they.

Ballmer isn't nearly as bad as Reggie.

If your reffering to reggie from nintendo then yes that guy just looks untrustworthy as all hell .

Why is everyone dissing TimeSplitters? TimeSplitters 3 is one of the best FPSs I've ever played with a hilarious storyline and fun shooting.

In my opinion Timesplitters 2 and 3 are the best console FPS games of the current genereration. The single player is great, the replay value is close to that of GTA, the game is hilarious, and it's the best console multiplayer experience I've ever had. These games are the true successors to Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, and it shows. While Perfect Dark is still my favorite, the Timesplitters series is leaps and bounds above the current competition IMO.

Have the people that are saying it sucks actually played the game? I find it hard to see how you can hate it, it's definitely a solid FPS with something to offer everyone. Sure some will like it more than others but there's really nothing to absolutely detest about the games, they're just really polished, solid, replayable arcade FPS games.

Yeah, I recall he was the guy who said "Pokemon is serious buisness" or something along those lines. Though that might've been Iwata.

I agree tha the TS series is fun in multiplayer (in a manic 'run around and blast the moneky' kinda way), but in single player they are rather average, and absolutly no way near the quality of GE and PD (not even close) - which, along with the original Halif Life, are the 2 of the greatest single player shooters ever :)

That's why most people are excited about PD0, not for the multiplayer, but for a single player game that actually is a challenge, has bucket loads of replayability, and demands skill/practise.

Well considering the amount of money it got Nintendo yes I would call it serious business.

id say the quality of the cartoon's animation definitely wasn't sewious business...

err... That has nothing to do with the business side of it. You realize that right?
