Heres a pic of Barney I did in school as you can see by the notebook paper. Was just something I started sketching and didnt really mean to get serious about, but I really got into it. Anyways, I'm starting on photoshopping it now, so expect a nice clean color picture somewhere in the future. Any constructive critisizm is well appreciated. If you dont like it, please tell me why.

Indeed I did. Yay me.

Yay, spent all day in life room (drawing naked people, really fun really)

anywho, saw this and a few C&C:

1. proportions are off on the majority of the character.
2. eyes are too far up the head, eyes should be aprox half way up the head.
3. shape of head is off look at a skull, and not the shape, a head is perfectly balanced...
4. neck is in the wrong place, and wrong shape
5. hands move off at different angles to the arms, and the arms are too short in comparison to the hands, and hands are too small in comparison to the width of the arms.
6. the angles on the weaponare at the wrong angles and differ going along the weapon
7. head is off tot he left of the body, should be central to body

hope i'm not been too harse, sorry if i am ;(, just been stuck in room drawing people all day and learnt alot, and wanting to put knowledge into practice

Lol, umm thanks for the crit. I have a lot to learn for sure, but as for some of the porportions Im not exactly going for a real looking kinda picture. As I said It started as a sketch from memory (the head was where I started). As for the arms and hands, I realised they need some perfecting to do, and thats what I plan to do while I photoshop it.
As for the neck position, I have a lame excuse that hes got like something over it, like some turtle neck suit.

Im too lazy to read Stone's post, so i might repeat what he said :)

First of all his left should should be a bit shorter because of the perspective...this "should fix you problem with stretching his left arm.
His right hand is too small... it should be heigher.
It just looks really wrong with such a small gun(i know thats what he has :) )

Overall you seem to have gotten the most stuff right, but you need to focus a lot more on the perpective.
Oh and his face r0x :)
I HATE doing faces.

Heya SnowBall,

Looks good man. Keep it up. Just a thought though, line paper is okay to use for doodling around, but try using a sketch book or even computer printer paper. That's what I use most. It's cheap and effective. Besides, when you scan the images for viewing, you won't have any lines on your work that will impede on what you are trying to show us.

Good to see you-

:)

Nice to see you here! Be careful on the off topic forums and General Discussion. The natives are restless.... As for the line paper I said I used it only because I had not intentions of this becoming a serious drawing. 99% of the time I just use computer paper. Just didnt have any at the time.

hehe, i've taken to carrying a sketch pad with me wherever I go because of this, wheter i'm meant to be serious or not, sometimes you just get carried away ad somethig that just start as you being bored can turn into something quite nice, until you realise that its no lined paper :x

Aint that just a classic, The lined paper scenario

Quick Update, semi done face with vector body. Still got lots to do.
