Barney's voice in Ep.2?

First and foremost, i did use the Search button first, and poked around in the forums for quite some time before posting.I couldn't find anything about this, so, here goes nuthin

After the final epic Stride battle at White Forest, when you walk into the base, all the rebels go "hey, it's Gordon Freeman!", "woo-hoo! ", "Hell of a job!", "Freeman FTW", etc. Mixed will all the cheers is a line "Good job, Gordon" and I can swear it's Barney's voice! I played through that little part a craplaod of times, and i can bet a lot of money that it sounds exactly like Barney Calhoun.
To prove myself that i wasn't imagining things, i went on Episode 1, got to a part where Barney talks, and turned on Closed Captions. You know how the main characters' lines are highlighted in a different color? Alyx's is light pink, the Vortigaunt's are green, the Overwatch Dispatcher lady's is red, etc. Well, turns out Barney's is light blue.
Then i went back into Episode Two, and played the part at the base, and turned on Closed Captions.
The "Good job, Gordon" line is highlighted, light blue.

Explanations/Comments/Epic Flame? (sorry if this has been posted before, i really couldn't find anything)

I don't have a capture card. (I play Episode 2 on the 360 )
I guess i can record it using my PC headset's microphone (i did that with the "such a theory is hardly far-fetched" line....that line is gold), but of course, the recording will be really, really shitty.
Hopefully someone comes along who has decent tools and the time (and the will) to do it.
If not, i guess i'll do it my way, but....should i really? It probably won't even sound like Barney cuz of the quality.

I had the subtitles and it came up green, which I believe is Barneys colour. Perhaps he was meant to be there at first, but Valve cut him out. Or they're playing games with us, like the whole "childeren in the playground" that only certain people hear.

The only RAGING NERD-HATRED I have for Ep2 is that Barney is not in it, except an easter egg of his voice.

I'd like to say that Valve was "lazy" to record a new voice thus they just threw in Barney's one in hopes that no one will notice but seriously.......

Barney is actually the G-Man, and he forgot to change his voice to "creepy old man" mode when he whispered in Gordon's ear.

Sort of, but it doesn't have to be a negative thing. They probably found they needed an extra voice, and thought 'let's put something in for the Barney fans to find'. Plenty of other characters cheer you on at some point, but they decided not to use them.
