How are we bastards for playing the alpha? Oh that's right, because you don't do anything illigal on the net. None of you download music illigally, or pirate games/software....i forgot...only us who have played the alpha are bastards.

Alpha, you are dumber than I thought, its called a leak Didn't have enough material to be called a alpha.

You are bastards though, you are adding to the problem, not helping to fix it, that is why you indeed are bastards. I hope all the people that played the leak get banned from steam, they sicken me. :hmph:

Moreso, they are ruining the whole experience for everyone, posting spoiler about things we should not know about untill we, the legitimit buyers, have played the game. There's probably more morally involved things to be said about the leak matter, wich i will not go into at this time...because i'm too much of a lazy bum, and it's time for the sack to be hit...

Long story short...if you played the leak, fine, shut your hole and be "l33t". If you haven't played the leak, congratulations, wait for the final version and be totally blown away, like the rest of us that hasn't been spoiled by this leak.

Prejudice, prejudice and more prejudice. I made a thread about this issue a while ago and it seems like the majority of those who got the leak regret it deeply because of the spoilers that follows with the modelviewer and soundfiles. Those who didn't touch the soundfiles and modelviewer etc just got a little more excited, nothing more than that. I do not recommend anyone to get the leak because of the huge risk of getting spoiled, and the spoilers are alot bigger than you might think.

that would be a stereotype there, sir. not all people who have played the leak give away spoilers. the simple act of playing the leak is innocent in itself as it doesn't hurt valve or anyone else.

Don't act like you are some 'goodie tooshoo that is all higher above people and has the right to insult people'. So I think it is you that should 'shut your hole'.

The leak was only about 3% of the ENTIRE GAME. They would only care about money. More people that enjoy Half-Life 2 leak means more people to buy Half-Life 2 and more people to buy Half-Life 2 related software. Gabe himself would understand that Half-Life was a major success and that people loved it and would download illegal stuff to get ahold of anything Half-Life 2.

My problem with the leaked version is that every person who've played it seems to know everything about HL2, and act all like "oh i didn't want to play it but a friend had it" so they can justify it. While in the mean time, they think they're the cool guy for playing the leak but not wanting to, so that makes everything ok, since it made them "even bigger HL2 fans" and all...total BS man...

i know several instances where someone played the leak, showed their friends, and their friends pre-ordered halflife2 as a result and got very excited. this translates into more sales for valve, which as they might not agree with the means, they most certainly agree with the result

If people go DL the leak and then play it, it's their own choice and the only one who gets spoild is those who playes it/look pics. THEN there the thread-starter who got cheaten and sow leak-pics....

And by the way: i.e. "The game wouldn't have been delayed if the hacker hasn't released it or if people didn't DL the leak" - YES it would!
Because the source were stolen and Valve knew it was out there. Even if no one played it it would still be a security risc for them and there for they had to redo the entire engine to ensure that it would be completely secure!
