Batman Arkham Asylum gameplay video

Cool combat, but looks like (from what I've seen in the trailers and gameplay) that they game could be super repetitive.

Well that's pretty much the only gameplay they've released and they have said it would feature way more, so yeah. BITCH.

Isn't that what most games feature? Surely the wealth of techniques available and varying environments will make each room unique. And I imagine there are some rooms that aren't being shown where there are puzzles to solve or obstacles to traverse through creative grappling hook use.

Even if it is just combat, I'll still be happy.

Not all games are like that, no. I hope they implement some Detective Batman in order to solve puzzles/clues/traps, especially those set out by villains like the Riddler and the Joker.

They have said they will do that! Please stop being ignorant!

Quote from the developers, asshole:

"No, we won't have detective parts to solve puzzles and traps. We are concentrating on a unique gameplay style that involves clearing out rooms of badguys. You get to play as Batman.
The coolest part of this game is that we won't feature clues."

Both of you cite your claims before this gets hairy...

zombieturtle01 is just being a troll, and not a very good one at that.

Yeah, Gargantou knows how to be a legit troll.

This looks really good, might grab a copy when it's released.

Sigh, I really like this game, but I guess I'm going to keep the contrast and brightness higher than normal, for most of the game (if you know what I mean)

I was quite hyped for this game following the initial trailers, but the latest really set that back. I think that whole gameplay mechanic of swoop in, swoop out is going to get incredibly boring fast -- I know I was bored midway through that trailer. It's nice, but it isn't very engaging, and it's not something they can carry on through a variety of rooms and expect to hold.

**** yeah I do! And I am damned proud off it.

People think being a troll is easy, but it's really a lot of hard work, I have to get up early in the morning and start working reading through the forums, looking for the best opportunities to troll, then I have to write a good post, and post it before anyone else manages to post a reply to the thread, which can ruin my troll-opportunity.

Anyway, I myself recall reading several times that there will be detective elements in Arkham Asylum, in fact, I recall one preview comparing it to the detective portions of Condemned 1 and 2.

^Oh you.

Man, people sure do seem to jump to a lot of conclusions based on a single gameplay video nowadays. The developers have said that there will be nonstealth portions, batman style weapons and tools, detective work, bossfights, a fighting system for taking on several enemies at once, etc. Just because the video doesn't show anything else doesn't mean there won't be anything else.

This. Harley's feels over the top though. I'd prefer... Jeanette I think her name was.

Plus Harley's voice is ****ing grating.

And her file says her weight is 140? YEAH RIGHT.

Trailer was okay but unlike everyone else I'm still not totally convinced on this game. I'm going to wait for reviews.
