Man... batteries are starting to scare me. I never really thought of them as being that dangerous to be honest, but I'm hearing and reading all this stuff lately about exploding batteries and battery fires and stuff...

And airlines have banned loose batteries recently, so I figured maybe I'd look to find some battery explosion videos to explain it.

I'm scared of electronics. Batteries, and then... what all else keeps happening to me. With lights. I hate electricity.

Isn't it horrible that companies design bags to sustain the damage caused by a lithium battery explosion?

I mean for ****s sake... batteries! I am so careless with batteries because I never assumed them to be dangerous!

I've had a standard Duracell AA battery explode by itself. It was on the table behind me, and it just exploded. The metal end-plug landed on the other side of the room, and the battery shell was smoking and hollow, with black gunk all around it.

Laptop batteries are pretty scary when they go wrong. Also, some people have had their hands/ears blown off just by their mobile/cellphone batteries going tits up.

My monitor exploded (imploded?) that way once. Thank god there wasn't any fire.

I've had a CRT explode the same way, there was fire and thick black smoke ... and I struggled to get the D-sub unscrewed from the back of the PC, had to lean over the burning monitor to unscrew it. I don't fancy doing that again, so all the house PCs use TFTs.
