I was just gonna post this. Another link. I am actually OK with this. I have to replace my rig, and I'll have the money for that in May. Good timing EA!

Good timing here as well, and it should mean a better game in the end.

Hey, maybe they could actually attempt to deliver more than 75% of the game at release? I'd call it positive.

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

but i guess this will let me concentrate on school and not be addicted to bf2

Doesnt matter how long they spend on it. Anything EA touches ends up buggy as hell without any support afterwards.

:(

I can't wait though.

It looks too be completely amazing :D

Good, i'm sick of EA pushing for developers to release things unpolished, maybe this will make a happier community.

Great news for two reason!!!

1) They will have time to make a more bug-free game... Maybe they will include BFTV with release now?

2) It will be closer to end of school time :)

It's only a month or two, not bad at all!!! Better than over a year waiting for HL2 :p

Delayed? I thought I could already play it... Oh yea that's right I'm thinking of Desert Combat :).

True true

meh, more time for WoW, DoD, Brothers in arms, Stalker etc

Wow, another HL2. :upstare:

Anyways, they better use this to make the game better, not just to hold it back for promotional purposes (if anyone in their right mind thinks HL2 didn't have that aspect to the delay, then you're SOLIL).

I'm looking forward to stakler now... I want to roam a barren landscape, fending off mutants and scavenging for metal. To me, BF2 will probally just be desert combat with squads and shiny graphics.

Thats OK, I've just started to get into BF:V again.

Engineer FTW!

nope the real reason they delayed is that they can put the earnings from 2 top tier games (BF2 and MoH) into the 06 fiscal year ..I doubt it has anything to do with not being near completion ..companies do this all the time when their fiscal earnings demand it ..it just makes good business sense

WHYYYYYYYYYYYY!?!??! OH GOOOD !! NOOOOO!!! I will personally get down to DICE studios and make them finish faster :D

This is GREAT news! That gives me more time to max out my character on World of Warcraft. At the moment, any game being released gets lost in the shuffle because I'm consumed with WoW.

Delayed to April-June? That's when I thought it was coming out anyway, so I'm not bothered.

Dude you dont know what its like, do you? It has many things that Desert Combat can only dream to achieve, stuff like destructible environment, advanced penetration systems, etc
This game is going to own so much

All-out War on the Modern Battlefield

The award-winning Battlefield franchise invades the high tech frontlines of modern warfare in the new sequel, Battlefield 2?. The game brings the intensity and excitement of Battlefield 1942? into the modern era with enhanced team play and the latest, most technologically advanced vehicles and weapons systems available to man.

In Battlefield 2, players will choose to fight for one of three military superpowers: the United States, the Chinese, or the newly formed Middle East Coalition. Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of any of the game's 30+ vehicles to engage in major conflicts with up to 64 players. Additionally, persistent character growth allows players to rise through the ranks and attain the ultimate rank of General.

An all-new game engine and physics system brings the modern battlefield to life like never before. The new material penetration feature measures weapons' ability to fire through barriers based on their composition and players will need to know the difference between concealment and cover in order to survive.

Battlefield 2 features immense, richly detailed, destructible environments, from city streets to remote forests, in some of the most notorious hot spots around the world. Each map in Battlefield 2 adjusts in scale to support the number of players in the world, providing the ideal vehicle- to-player ratio and an optimized gameplay experience.

Enhanced team play features allow players to enter the action on the front lines as part of a formal squad, or work behind the scenes in Commander Mode to direct the strategic assaults of their teammates.

Soldier kits now affect vehicles that players utilize on the battlefield. For instance, the medic kit can transform a vehicle into a mobile aid station and the special ops kit can render aircraft undetectable to enemy radar.

Key Features
-Online multiplayer action with 64 players on the PC.

-All-new gameplay engine brings the immense locations to life complete with realistic physics and dynamic lighting.

-Maps scale to the number of players engaging in battle for a unique and intense experience every time.

-Take control of over 30 land, sea, and air vehicles, including tanks, helicopters, hovercraft, fast attack vehicles, and fighter jets.

-Choose to battle as U.S., Chinese, or Middle East Coalition troops, each with their own unique arsenals.

-A variety of solider classes to choose from, including Assault, Sniper, Special Ops, Combat Engineer, and Anti-tank units.

-Join a squad or select the new Commander Mode to assume the strategic role of a battlefield commander directing his forces.

-New state-of-the-art weapon systems, including heat seeking missiles and laser designated bombs.

-Material penetration feature makes sure players know the difference between cover and concealment.

-Character Persistence and Growth. With in-game success, players increase their rank and unlock awards, including new weapons, vehicle decals, medals and more.

-Join a squad or select the new Commander Mode to assume the strategic role of a battlefield commander directing his forces.

-Full in-game community support including, buddy lists, stat tracking, live chat rooms, and in-game clan creation.

-Voice-over IP supported with USB headset.

Release Date: March 2005

I do like the ability for kits to change the vehicles.

It means I can do a proper medivac!

I am very interested in the fact that there won't be any health- and ammo-posts around. You either get healed / new ammo from a teammate or it gets air-dropped by the commander. DICE seems to have put a lot of effort into trying getting the game more team-oriented. You have the squad-system, integrated voice communication, and the commander. I hope that's not all marketing-talk.

Oh man, I can't wait for this game. I still very much enjoy Battlefield Vietnam, but it's getting a bit old after playing it basically since the release. Oh well, upto Hastings once more.

And its all thanks to EA who purchased DICE, and since EA has a say in it, they want to convert it into an arcade fest, with no physics and gameplay for 2 year olds.

the good thing is

I maybe will hav time to upgrade my PC

I'm really interested in what they have up their sleeves for the Chinese. We have yet to see a single screenshot of any of their forces or weapons, and they've been said to no be as "based in the present." So exactly what the hell do the have going on?
