Me and Stern are gonna try to get together and play bf2 for old times sake. Anyone else up for it?


posting times available to play might be useful.
 
I'd love to play, BF2142's acting up on me.
Stops loading every map on every server I try at about 60%... forcing me to ctrl alt del out of it.

I guess I could give BF2 another go, despite how long it'll take for me to patch it. :(

edit : Why the hell is the patch so damn big? 531.0mb... dling at 170kb/s on Filefront.

I'll probably be able to play with ya'll at about 6:30/7pm est.
 
I believe you can just get the latest full patch. I'll have to find out what that is though

Dling the patch from strategy informer now, at 190kb/s :D

It's the one mod that makes BF2 actually fun.
Makes it alot more realistic.

It's a gig download though, so if you want to just play vanilla... that's fine with me, I highly recommend the PR mod though.
 
I'm all for it, but it depends what time it is.
 
I thought the gameplay of bf was near perfect. It was getting into the game and everything before you got into it that were the worst parts.

I hate the damage system really, that's it.
You have to unload 2 magazines into a guy to kill them.
Also, headshots with the sniper rifles should be one hit kills.

Those are my only gripes really, along with the unnecessarily long load times.
 
I'm pretty sure that sniper headshots are one hit kills... its just pretty hard to get a headshot :p
 
Well this would require me to go out and buy BF2 again... I'm up for it next week >_>

I didn't lose it so much as trade it in to buy Starcraft :P

I can rebuy it for like $20 though.

it certainly is a hell of a lot more fun to play in a squad that works together and ideally are your friends. :D

The ****ing thing is still updating... I'm leaning towards 9pm now.

I'm up for it. I cringe at the thought of it crashing and the loading times though. :( My new computer is gonna benchmark on BF2 lol. The weird part about this game is that my uncle also play's this game with some of his relatives! They play on a private server though. He's like "So what games do you play? I play BF2." My reaction ":O"
 
Bleh, after playing 2142 for awhile... BF2's load times are painful... and the immense amount of stuttering during the game.

What the **** man, why would EA just leave the game in such a rut? :|

i'll probably play again once I get my new computer...hopefully this weekend.
 
Too bad. Next week is going to be no internet for a few weeks for paul, probably. :(
 
I'd love to play with the hl2.net squad again. It was fun as hell last time, and i didnt even really know anyone from here then. Now it will be aweshens. Ill have to find a download of the game though, and have my brother email me my cd key, so it might be awhile before i can play.
 
The thing I hate about BF2 is how insanely unbalanced the whole thing is.

I hate Jets blowing the shit out of me every 5 seconds.
I hate getting run over by my team mates.
I hate getting ignored by a medic as they run past while I'm laying their dying.
I hate getting ass-raped once I spawn.
I hate people who never give you a ride off the carrier.

I say for the billionth time to put this old dog to sleep. This section is dead and is just ruined. The next game that will make us all play again is probably Left 4 Dead or QW: ET.

Unfortunate truth.
By the time the retail game got released... everybody got their BF2 fix from the demo.
 
After recent events, I can't join you guys for a while. I have to move thus no internet
 
We should play PRM.

Vanilla BF2 is chalk full of idiots/lamers and annoying shit. PRM is kickass.

O_o If I can't afford internets at the new place, how the hell will I be able to afford an ALIENWARE *too expensive for what they put in it* laptop?

Though I like your thinking :P Don't they like...brick your rates so you wont get a good connection?

I'm not too sure, I haven't taken advantage of their WiFi.

Though, I have seen this dude at a Starbucks who supposedly sat in the same chair all day with his laptop.
