I got Battlefield Two today (for christmas obviously) for my 360. I'd heard it was awesome and all that. However, it is crap. Full stop. Playing through the campaign leads me to discover it's just Star Wars battlefield, but er...crap as I said. Why is this game hyped so much?
 
Because you got the wrong version...

BattleField 2 on PC >>>>>>>>> any BattleField console version
 
It's true. BF2 for the console is just a retard fest...though the swapping between units was pretty cool...

"WHAT YOU STOLE MY TANK!? I THINK NOT!" keke...

but yeah, seriously. The PC outranks it infinately.

The single player is just a training sim for you to get used to the controls. Come on Live with it; it's great fun.

True. I suggest Munro shut's down this section of the boards. It's a big flame fest of why bf2 sucks/bf2142 sucks/EA sucks or a combination of those. Maybe close down the SIN and Elder Scrolls section down too. :( Hopefully when Quake Wars comes out we can all start playing together again.
 
I just started playing again actually, nothing beats gunning down infantry from a helicopter.....

(then getting rammed by a jet, bitching for 10 minutes, getting banned, and doing it over again)

I'm waiting for FH2, then I'll play again. Otherwise no, it's just a cesspool of retards who tk for vehicles and point whores and exploiters. Think I'll just reinstall bf42 instead.
 
I just officially started playing it last night when I installed my new card.

Not as fun as I was hoping it would be... It'd probably be better playing with people that I know.

Oh well... :(

It's true. The game is really only fun if you're screwing around with people you know and having shit tons of fun.

The console version title has "Modern Combat" in it afaik. It's much MUCH different.

And it's an FPS for a console, FFS, good luck aiming with knobs.:O
 
Why in gods name would you get battlefield on a console, what a laff.

Online i'm sinkoman (usually with the [HL2] prefix).

I've got a 2.3 ghz processor, 7600 BFG, and 2gb of ram...

AND I STILL HAVE 5 MINUTE LOAD TIMES!
What the hell gives? :|... it's really the only thing keeping me from enjoying the game.

What kind of HDD do you have?

I really doubt that your proc, vid card, or ram would have ANYTHING to do with a games load times :P

That's all down to how fast your HDD can spit out the data.
 
My new PC allows me to play the BF2 I've had for a long time. It's true though, I have both the PC and 360 versions. 360 sucks. Alot! I played it once and was all. 'Why TF did I buy this?!'

Not sure, not exactly the most tech savvy person out there.

All I did was install the video card and ram.

EDIT: I've got rid of my previous comment because it's Christmas and I really shouldn't be getting worked up about something over the internet. Plus, I came across as an arrogant prick.

But the point still remains; way too many people look down upon the console BF2 because of it's controls. The learning curve is about 10 minutes, and it's stupidly.. I say again, STUPIDLY, easy to aim. I like using both controllers and the keyboard, but I guess alot of people just like to stick to one thing. :| :)

This person was kicking the entire servers ass in a game of cs. He claimed he was using a joystick and his movements sometimes did look like he was on an x&y axis. The guy was kicking ass though! So never say never...

BF2 for the PC - GOTY 2005 - is an awesome game in spite of the tools at EA/DICE
BF2 for console is a completely different and frankly PoS game
as soon as the shops reopen trade it in

Kk, so I'll trade it in. My only worry is that it won't work on my mid-range PC. Can someone please tell me the minimum requiered system specs?

I think it's terrible for the direction it has taken the BF series - ingame ads, mmorpg stats, infantry driven, teamplay destroying etc ad infinitum
It's the first BF game I will not buy or play on principle and besides BF2 is still a great game

You are going to at least try it online before trading it in on the basis of a few mediocre ''it suks tht iz all lol!!'' reveiws? The game is meant for online play. The PC BF2's single player is pretty much just the same; a simple training sim to get you adjusted to the weapons and controls. In any BF2 game, it's the online area that is what's important.
 
Well, my local Game refuses to open even though it's the 27th. On the plus side, CoD 3 and Double Agent were good.

I actually think 2142 is alright, EMP's are fun!
 
Theantipop...I'd love to say "this was so much ****ing fun over live!"...but, I don't have live. Money and all.
 
Screw what I said, me and my brother just played for hours on multi. It's great! Awesome even. Single-player IS shit though.

Not really no, HDD speed has a minimal effect on loading times. RAM is #1.
