Doesn't seem like much has been revealed yet, we'll have to wait for that cover story to hit.

battlefield with pixar/tf2-esque art design is quite win imo.

*rimshot*

But really, its a cool idea and a good fit if they want to go back to BF42 style gameplay (as in planes that go less than several hundred miles an hour and no guided missiles).

I just can't get over that guy's face/chin. It's so... so... tasty.

The one thing I really don't like about it is that it's built around Microtransactions. **** that. Having played DICE's previous games of BF2 / '42, let's just say their gaming balance isn't exactly good (translation: it ****ing sucks). I don't like the idea of having to constantly pay for weapons / mods / vehicles / whatever in order to avoid playing at a disadvantage.

QFT

This model has always struck me as a way to just nickel and dime the shit out of customers.

The new art-style made me LOL, but what surprises me about this (so far) is what it doesn't have.

  • It doesn't have in-game advertisements, instead they "will appear on the website and the 'front-end' of the game"
  • Giving EA money doesn't give you better weapons but "items which customise (your) appearance in the world"
  • It doesn't have high system requirements, "You will be able to play this game on grandma's laptop" <- an exaggeration I'm sure, but still.
  • It doesn't need as much skill (compared to the other Battlefield games).
  • And because of the new business model EA can't abandon the project if it has issues.

I love the idea, and I'm actually glad EA did this. And now we know it isn't copying TF2. (It's copying Army Men :p)

So it's going to be an American version of Warrock? :|

Who knows. And they could of course make this an abusive system (pay-per-bullet), or they could keep it contained to more appropriate things (lol check it out im Winston Churchill with a machine gun).
