I'll watch BSG if there's nothing else on and I enjoy it. Until watching last season's finale. WTF? All along the watch tower is the song that activates sleeper Cylons? What did the Cylons do a fly by of Earth in the 60's hear that song and say "hey that's an awesome riff. mind if we barrow it to activate our spy's in the future k thx bye" Oh and we'll just wait until everyone else finds this planet before we destroy it.

That's so pathetically stupid. But that's just me. If you liked it good for you. perhaps you can tell me why they used it.

I'm watching the beginning of season 3 as I type this... Their getup on New Caprica is somewhat reminiscent of City 17, no? I'll get back to you when we get to the end of the disk.

They needed a song to use, rather than trying to make their own from scratch they adapted a real Earth song. There is no in-universe connection between the real song and the one used in the finale.
