Mark Wahlberg has been confirmed as the new lead in Michael Bay's fourth and final Transformers movie. Bay announced on his website that the star of Boogie Nights and The Departed had been given the role following a successful stint on his bodybuilding-themed action comedy Pain & Gain.

Wahlberg replaces Shia LaBeouf, who starred in the first three Transformers films but made the decision to step away from the series following 2011's Transformers: Dark of the Moon. LaBeouf described the third film as "crap" and the experience of working within the studio system as like having executives "stick a finger up your ass".

now all they have to do is fire Bay and make the movie into something other than the Transformers which has always been a pretty stupid premise to begin with

So is he supposed to be taking place of Shia LaBeouf's role?

Still need to replace Bay to have a chance.

Fewer squishy humans, more giant robots punching each other!

It makes no sense. Stern's thread image pretty much covers it.

Lol at Bay saying that Transformers 4 will be less campy and actually be darker, he's been saying this after each installment. We all know its going to be Batman and Robin level of camp.
