BC2 Vietnam sound-off

I've finally got it and I love it. It's great to see the smaller maps and flying around in the Huey is just a blast.

The in-vehicle 60s music alone has convinced me to buy this shit.
After I finish the BC2 campaign.

enjoying this a lot, though a bit disappointed in the flatness and simplicity of two of the levels. i love vantage point and hill 137 but sometimes if you steamroll the enemy team, shit can be over way too quickly. i've not played the temple map yet, but the other two, hastings and the valley one i find a bit bland. they feel too small even without steamrolling.

by too small i don't mean i expect huge rolling plains for tank battles as the small intensity suits the vietnam aesthetic, what i mean is they don't feel varied enough and because of their size it often makes them a little bland to me. maps kind of feel just like a bunch of trees, and inevitable river to cross and a bunch of huts. i like vantage and hill 137 because they at least change up the altitude of the terrain and bring in some cool things like bunkers and trenches, but not a big fan of the others except for temple - wish it would come up more!

otherwise, good fun.

I like Phu Bai and Hastings mostly because on Conquest they both have 2 copters and shitloads of trucks.

Temple is okay, there are a couple of great fun chokepoints in rush. I absolutely love Hill 137, it's probably my favorite rush map. Vantage point is good, but the least balanced of all the maps (defenders have a serious advantage at the 2nd base).

hmm, i haven't played conquest yet. i didn't really like it on BC2 but i'll give it a try tonight on this. i was wondering where all the choppers and tanks weere. sometimes it can feel a little quiet in rush, and often the vehicles are severly overwhelmed by groundfire because they're much weaker now.

They're decent on Conquest, I like Hastings more in that respect (it's pretty huge). Both of them have 2 tanks, 1 copter, and several jeeps easily accessible for each team. Hastings has a ton of PBR boats too.

well, just played the temple and it was pretty fun. again though, feels way too small, very too quick. it's basically huts, river, objective in huts, river, huts, objective, temple, objective, done. i don't think some maps seem to have much character in them, nothing that really makes me think ''oh yeah i love the dynamics of this specific part'' or i really like the fighting that takes part in one element. i guess maybe that's just the grim jungle warfare hell of vietnam, though.

Just bought this, haven't played it yet though. If anyone is ever up for a game my in-game username is escape2010 and my steam is noescsape (spelled like that).

Gonna get this later today. I think my name is 'sheepo', but I'm not positive. Tonight's going to be the first time in a long time when I'm gonna be able to get really into some MP, so I hope you guys are on.

Just played several rounds with Shaker and it was fun. Confusing because I don't quite know the maps yet. Is the performance worse in Vietnam than standard BC2? In BC2 my framerate is pretty good yet in Vietnam even on low settings it feels like I am only getting around 20-30 fps.

Performance seems about the same for me.

What might have been extra confusing btw was the mixing between conquest and rush. Game type has a lot of influence on the way a map plays out.

Must've just been a bad time for performance as it seems to be going good now. But I must say, this game is freaking fantastic. I'm having MUCH more fun in Vietnam than I was in BC2 and I've only been playing the game for a day. The atmosphere to this game is simply incredible and I feel it really sums up the chaos and hell that Vietnam must've been. However, it can be frustrating like regular BC2 if you have a retarded team. I forget which Rush map it is but as attackers you can get to the first MCOM station within seconds of the game starting. If your team isn't the first team to get there it seems almost assured you will lose.
