Would be bad if HL2 is delayed just because of publisher issues.

My thoughts on not going officially gold are very simple: They dont want to shout it out on the net! Doing it would be like jumping into the water dressed in a seal suit with 100 sharks around you: They gonna eat you in minutes. Warez people will be on it like vultures. Both downloaders and uploaders will know its gold, and a leak is soon to follow... Now, if it have gone gold and is already in the copying process, the average downloaders are unaware. Spread will be limited (for a certain amount of time).

Exactly, and for this reason I hope they keep it secret for as long as they can.
