Beginner help

I know theres lots of XSI tutorials out there, almost too many. Does anyone know any beginner tutorials they think are particularly good? Modelling really, not scenes.

Also my query about what started this. Can you have a NURBS curve with Linear points in it? is there a sort of photoshop "Convert point" tool? I remember seeing it in a tutorial once but I can't find it again.

Oh and to save me bugging you all, do you know any good forums where newbies like me are allowed to ask basic queries?

As far as the NURBS curve with linear points/photoshop point conversion thing I've got no idea, sorry =( Otherwise I think this forum is a perfectly fine place to ask your questions, there are some pretty skilled and knowledgeable modelers here. Good luck!-Noodly
