Which is the best Anti-Virus program on the market today ?

I think norton and bit defender are good. Bit defender is a free one.

I got Norton 2005 installed, but I think it hogs resources.

I use Trend Microsystems. Very low on system resources as anti-virus programs go and so far it has worked like a charm with basically all the features of a Norton product.

One of the best av programs is definetly Kaspersky. Many tests have proven its quality. New definition files every 3 hours...

Norton kills all your ressources and is compared to other av programs shit. It's failure rate is too high (failure alerts & the fact that this program does not detect every virus/backdoor). Use everything but Symantec :)

I use McAfee, because it works (unlike norton), doesent hog resources (unlike norton), and I get free definitions through my dads work :)

I've been thinking about switching to Kapersky. Heard a lot of good stuff about it.

I've read the opposite. McAfee is worse than Norton.

Kaspersky = King of detection

NOD32 = Light and sweet :)

Do any of you still detect viruses?

The last time I got a virus was in my windwos 98 days. Nearly 5 years ago.

I use NOD 32. They have a really good detection record and it's light on resources plus scans really fast 10mins for my whole c: drive.

Whoever recommended the Kaspersky, thanks alot, I downloaded the full version and it found 3 viruses that Norton AV2005 didnt find, needless to say I uninstalled the resource hogger NAV2005.

i use zone alarm with antivirus and it works like a beast. it found a couple of viruses in like the first few months that ive had my comp. and not only did it find them but automatically fixed them and then told me about it.

My dad had norton, but it was crap.

He went to the computer shop and asked what the most rocksolid anti virus software you have. They pointed to Spy Sweeper.

Norton is alright against something puny like trojans, but get rid of ads and spies by spy sweeper
