three words: company of heroes at 20 dollars. Hell, I'd buy the game for over 10 dollars its original price.

I got Call of Duty2: The Big Red One for £11 the other week and I think it's a great game. By far a huge improvement upon the other Call of Dutys that have been released for consoles. They felt so Medal of Honour, whereas this is a solid game with some really nice visuals, gameplay, combat, story and depth. I'm enjoying it.

I also got that cel-shaded game XIII for £1 the other day. Not the best game ever, but entertaining and it does look nice and original in it's form. Plus, for a quid, why would you not get it? Thats practicually a steal.

Yeah it's COH for $20 for me as well. Dark Messiah for $49 however has a horrible best bang to buck ratio, very disappointed.

agreed on both counts, though i paid $50 for COH

CnC Generals for $7. Yeah, the game sucks, but $7...?

Defcon, DEFINETLY.

Darwinia too.

CoH.

Half-life 1 & 2, due to the mods. But that isn't really recent.

$20 ?! The only game I've paid that much for (Or near that price) in a while was Defcon and I plan on buying the first Sam and Max episode which is cheap as pie, otherwise the last few games I've bought have been around $100. :(

CnC Generals for $7. Yeah, the game sucks, but $7...?

I got it for free (a friend gave me Generals and ZH because he couldn't play it) and i still feel ripped off

Doom Ultimate, Free!

Got actually bought...idk the last game I bought. Screw it Starcraft was the best bang for the buck I got. 5 years of getting fat and in love with Sc until I woke up to reality and learned what "outside" was. I love the outside now!

i'll second that
although i did pay 49.99 CAD
definately worth it though
can't say enough great things about this game

Gears of War. Not a budget title, but it was $100 (pre-ordered) for the collector's edition, whereas the majority of normal 360 titles here are $120-130... and it pisses on em all! :P

I'll be honest, i've bought too much crap this year that i've barely played

D:

definitely Buck Banger 3000.

You bought that JNightshade.

neat can I borrow it?

I'd vote BF2. Most recent game I've bought.

900 hours on it at 50 bucks isn't so bad IMHO.

COD warchest for $60 canadian (has COD, COD:UO, and COD2)

The only game I've bought in awhile is Vice City Stories ... pretty good bang for your buck. It's a GTA game so it's long as hell. I finished the storyline in about 23 hours and it seems like theres much more side stuff to do than in any of the other games, except possibly San Andreas.

I'm going to buy MGS: Portable Ops pretty soon, and since I think it's priced at $40 that should work out pretty well. Daxter may drop to a greatest hits price someday too.

It's weird ... recently pretty much all the games I've played have been on PSP, even rentals. There was a huge period of time where I literally never touched it and now it's the only thing I use for games.

BF2 for ten bucks from a mate. CoH, even for the 60 I paid. HL2, though a bit old, has amazing value.

Oh, come on, it's not that bad. :D

Although Company of Heroes is far superior. But Generals is good for a lark with friends.

starship troopers game £3.33 ;) , cheapest game i have ever bought

final fantasy 12 - 50 bucks.

why? because ive bought games like doom 3 for 60 bucks and had nothing left to do in the game after 12 hours. here i am with ff12, 80 hours into it, and still plenty of things left to do.

Company of heroes is fantastic. Im glad I listened to you guys about it. Bought it full price and have no regrets.

Best bang for my buck would be Medieval 2 total war or gothic 3. I love both of them... and got them for free!!

Also, if I think about it, World of Warcraft ended up being damn good value... alot of money, but for countless hours of entertainment (5 60s when I stopped in Sep) Not to mention I could honestly pick it up again and be just as entertained, just not enough time... Though I doubt any game value wise will beat CoD1 and to a lesser extent CoD2 for me, thousands of hours played.

Rome : Total War and Star Wars : Republic Commando together for $20 at Gamestop.
Both are damn great games.

About two weeks ago I bought Dungeon Siege II (No expansion) compulsively for fairly cheap. I didn't think I'de play it for very long, but Company of Heroes was burning me out and I craved some mindless hack'n'slash. What a wonderful purchase. Since then I've already spent far more time with DS2 than I did with Titan Quest in several months. The graphics look weak at first glance, but as the game progreses you start to realize that low-poly models let the developers spend a lot of time making the environments detailed and varied. My original complaints with Dungeon Siege 1 -the lack of gore, challenge, and atmosphere- have totally been made null with the sequel. Monsters gib (Yay), the game world is rich in side quests and minute details, and it is not at all possible to just health pot your way through the game. In fact, Dungeon Siege II is probably the most challenging hack'n'slaher ever made. If you enjoyed Diablo II even remotely you would be doing your a disservice to pass up DS2.

Other recent bangs have been Magic Workstation (For free), Warhammer 40k: The Dark Crusade, and Galactic Civilizations II.

Yeah, DS II is great, the best hack and slash RPG out there. But the best game I recently bought was Medieval II Total War. I did spend $50, but I got a $10 gift card cuz I'm a leet customer :o

Okami, rented it through Gamefly. Its awesome, beautiful, and took me over a month to beat with a length approaching 40 hours.

I got BF2 with a pizza here in Australia, game was like $15 USD and I've put in lots of hours.

i got earth 2160 for $10 (£6) on steam!! played it for some hours!!
