Since they have a worst Boss fight thread I'll start a best boss fight thread.

I really like the boss in KOTOR. Bowser in Mario 64 was pretty cooll too.

Spider demon at the end of DOOM. BFG 2000 FTW!!!

I personally like fighting that really smart strider at the end of HL2: Episode 1.

Every Colossi in Shadow of the Colossus hands down.

Also, pretty much every Metroid Prime (1 & 2) boss. I can't remember many specifics, but seriously, those were fun and usually challenging.

The butcher guy in Psychonauts was great fun.

Ganondorf in Ocarina of time is one of my favourites. (That includes the Ganon beast form).

Desann (Jedi Outcast) I personally loved, although there's a mixed bag of opinion on that one.

Sion from KoTOR II was a great twist on a boss during a lightside quest - talk him into destroying himself rather than just set about him.

The village leader from Resi 4. I loved that battle in the barn. So many ways to do it, and all of them left me pretty chuffed.

There's a ton more, but meh. Someone else will no doubt name them.

Psycho Mantis from MGS.

Oh, and Perseus from God of War 2--just did it last night and absolutely loved it.

The last boss in OPFORSE, me and my dad thought that SUCKED! I mean, you shot it, then shot its stomach, then killed the shock trooper, then ran to the healing pool and repeated.

EDIT: Probly the wrong place but i was responding to xendance.

Every boss in God of War 1.

Except the last boss... I can't push the circle button that fast! Took me like 20 tries!

The boss in Tron 2.0 was fun. The end bosses in Painkiller were mostly about figuring out how to defeat them, then doing it. Once. The mid bosses, however, were almost all enjoyable.

Pretty much any boss in any Zelda game ever.

I don't know about that one... Shadow Link in Ocarina of time was annoying and too easy.

Spin attack with biggoron sword... press z... repeat

EDIT: I guess he's a mini boss though

Lava Rief Zone Act 3 - Sonic & Knuckles
Doomsday Zone - Sonic & Knuckles
Hydrocity Zone - Sonic 3
Marble Garden Zone - Sonic 3
Launch Base Zone - Sonic 3
Casino Night Zone - Sonic 2
Metropolis Zone - Sonic 2

I like Sonic :P

A bunch of them from Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2

Not many others really stick out.

Solidus Snake - MGS2. Man, that fight was epic. A ****ing Harrier jet fer christs sake. And Snake up in the chopper with the machine gun just looked awesome.

Only stand out at the moment.

Every boss from PSYCHONAUTS!

Galak Feylarr from JKII. Dunno why, I just enjoyed beating the crap out of him.

Best boss fight ever is in the last level of Space Channel 5. Eff yeah man.

And yes, I am kidding, but the game is awesome as was the Dreamcast.

Eh, I liked them because they were classic bosses. I.e. I didn't have to shoot them, just hit them.

That reminds me - Mysterio from Spiderman, Ripto from Spyro 2, and all bosses from Crash Bandicoot, excepting everything after Warped.

Galak Feylarr... wait, I might be wrong, but he was the dude in the Mecha-suit.

MSG1: Revolver Ocelot and Psycho Mantis.
MGS2: Fatman and the Hind.
MGS3: All of them except the Fear.

Del Largo and Krauser from RE4.

That reminds me - Mysterio from Spiderman, Ripto from Spyro 2, and all bosses from Crash Bandicoot, excepting everything after Warped.

Rock on.

MGS2: Fatman and the Hind.

I thought I was the only one who liked the Fatman battle.

Pretty much every boss battle from DMC, especially Nelo Angelo part 1 and Griffon part 3.

I thought Fatman was great fun. The bomb aspect worked quite well in adding an extra dimension to the fight.

That he was, but during my second playthrough I realised you could just him in the top of his head (slightly revealed under his jacket) and it would be over after you repeated this about three times.

Another boss I liked was the Hind-D in MGS1. On top of the Comms Tower and then whilst absailing the Comms Tower.

Man, I got to go and get this for the Gamecube sometime.

Don't. Twin Snakes fails. Not that I've played but I've seen the 'revamped cutscenes'.

What's up with them? Far as I can see/tell it's just nicer graphics.

Either way, as cool as the cutscenes are in MGS, I loved the game anyway.

I think they made them all Matrix. Snake jumps and flips and dodges missiles like Neo.

Didn't he dodge a missile fired from the Hind in MGS1 by jumping and spinning off of it? Or perhaps I YouTube'd Twin Snakes a while back and I'm thinking of the newer cutscreens.

All the same, very lame, but I bet I can pick it up for like 15 quid now so what the hell.

I liked Twin Snakes a lot, except for the fact that the addition of the M9 Tranquilizer made lots of parts way too easy. It wasn't like in MGS2, where you basically needed a headshot, instead you could hit them anywhere on their body if I remember correctly. The revamped stuff was pretty nice IMO.

Also, I thought the Fatman battle was meh. I mean, it was different from just shooting him I guess, but (I'm going to get bashed for this) it was pretty dumb and unrealistic. Ok, don't even bother to attack me while I'm searching for and defusing your bombs. It was just more a nuisance to me.

I can't believe no one else has mentioned Shadow of the Colossus but me. Those boss fights were intense and just so enjoyable. Such a MASSIVE level of scale between you and the colossi. Also, the unique ways of which to find each monster's weak spot. I would imagine this would rank highly with you, Samon.

When theres a nicer looking, but same game, on the market, why go backwards? I mean, I liked how MGS looked, regardlss of the time I played it, but I may as well step up from it seeing that I have the chance to.

Plus, I don't own and do not want a Playstation. Don't even get me started on wanting to play it on PC.

EDIT; ^ To Samon, can't be bothered to quote now.

I really liked the Fatman battle, but I couldn't get past him on the hardest difficulty.

You have to remember that they were just using Fatman to test you.

I've been meaning to give that game a whirl.

Yeah, I'd second that vote. I've never played a game that made 1-on-1 battles feel as cinematic as SotC. Number 15 is a personal favourite.

TBH, this thread made me take it off my shelf. I got up to the second to last colossi before i stopped playing a while ago. Might as well finish the game this week.

The Lost Number in Final Fantasy VII was really fun. I remember opening that thing up way too early the first time and getting completely ass raped.
