If that link doesnt work, then just goto Best Buy's website and lookup HL 2. But , again it could be speculation, but it caught my eye...it shows that the HL 2 that will ship to Best Buy will indeed be without MP. Again, speculation, just caught my eye. No flaming please.

EDIT: Check the small writing in the description where it says Internet Play and it says NO.

im pretty sure things are still very unfinal^ despite being released soon- i seriously think it has to do with the excellent downplaying done by valve and such- makes for more suprises in the long run.

I'm surprised that the non-Mp version would be so expensive, if that is the non-MP version. You'd think that the SP-only game would be cheaper than the original Half-Life was. I hope this doesn't mean that the full version will be like 70$ or something.

My point exactly...I personally think again thats just speculation price for it. If that is the price for SP only, thats totally ridiculous. I honestly dont think I'd pay $70 for HL 2 if it were going to be that much.

Agreed

Where would Best Buy have gotten this information? Valve? Hell no. Vivendi? Unlikely (they don't seem to know whats going on anyhow). In other words, pure speculation by whoever writes those product description pages.

" Number of DVD: 1 "

Best buy will defienly have all that are released, and does that mean they are saying it ois on ONE DVD big?

Well, I remember this being mentioned a month or two ago, on the Steam forums, I think.

It's been listened at having no multiplayer for ages, before anyone else knew about the single player only version.

Also if you look here: http://www.gnsproject.com/news/840/

Gabe has replied to a rather arogant e-mail in which he calls the traditional version "Standard Price" and the SP version "Less Expensive". The e-mail definately implies that the Tradional version will be the usual price for games ($50ish in the US, I think).

Thats exactly what I was thinking...I was pretty sure Traditional pricing never meant $70 lol

if its that expensive for single player ALONE doing the monthly subscription would be a bargain (10$ VS 50$)
Perhaps the bargain aspect o f subscription is because MP is as expensive as a expansion pack (NOOOOOOOO!!) or you have to pay for maps (NOOOOOOOOOO!!).

ideally those are both wrong, as Best buy (hopefully) would be, and SP in a box is ~30-40$?

This is going to be interesting indeed.

Am i paranoid to read that as MP and Mod versions of hl2 being seperate? As in get subscription for both or buy hl2 with 2 internet modes to pay for? Just a scared rant, don't worry bout it too much.
Valve isn't run by bastards as far as i know :D

How about other countries? You know, the ones without best buy and walmart and all that rubbish.
Will all our shops just stock both versions?

I'm pretty sure that's wrong. It has the PC game AVP2 listed as on VHS, lol. It also says no MP for Call of Duty.

That would depend on your shops.

I buy all my games at Best Buy and knowing them I am sure that all versions will be there.
