Mine, definately Half-Life. Seemless transition that spans to each area (well, except for the portal teleport to Xen), and wonderful atmosphere. Yours?
 
* First Aliens vs. Predator. That was so INTENSE.
* Vanilla Quake in multiplayer. That was so INTENSE.
* Half-Life... It was just so good. :)

I voted for other, that other being Aliens vs. Predator.

I completely forgot about that franchise. Oh well, guess I'll have to become a mod to edit my polls.
 
Tough choice, cuz my first FPS experience was... Jurassic Park on SNES (If we can consider it a FPS in some parts). First good one was Goldeneye, and first REAL FPS experience was Duke Nukem 3D. But the best one... Half-Life is too great and Half-Life 2's better be awesome to impress me as much as the first one did. So Half-Life wins, and I hope that'll be HL2 in a couple of months (hopefully weeks).
 
There's the LGS/Ion games besides: System Shock, Deus Ex, Thief (first person stabber). I'd have to go with the first NOLF though, with Deus Ex and HL close behind.
 
It's kinda hard to choose between HL and NOLF, but I guess since I like the two NOLF games better than HL1 then I have to go with NOLF. But that will change when HL2 is released probably.
 
One thing you're forgetting. This is a HL forum therefore everyone will vote for HL or HL2 in polls.
 
i have to go with castle wolfenstein. i mean i remember getting that game and being so glad to play it after i answered those questions to prove that you bought the game. i mean what game is better than good ol fashioned nazi killin
 
Definitely HL, although Duke was awesome in it's time and both Jedi Knights were great too.

Red Faction is first for me because its new and the multiplayer is fun and the geo mod technology was awesome in its time... half-life only gets second because though its equally as good to me, its older, thats the only reason
 
Man this it tough...

My first real experience was doom and doom 2 on the PC, then Duke 3D on an old Vectra, then I played wolf 3d on the SNES. Man... I really loved the Doom series, which most forget can still be scary as hell, Quake 2(the best quake), NOLF,HL especially, and AVP2 which is possibly the scariest game ever (Besides THey Hunger). I guess I just love em all. THeir all too good of games. There's no comparison...
 
I think I'll have to go with NOLF... I dont know generally like FPS games, but that one was pretty neat, it was so different from everything else. I really liked the colorfull smoothness and weapon handling of it.
 
HL of course... Jedi knight wasn't that great. I like JK2 though. NOLF was so-so IMO... I didn't like NOLF 2

Perfect Dark was awesome, and is still better than most FPSes out there.
Halflife wins though.
 
This isnt a FPS but I just have to say how tukkin good it is was and ever shall be. System Shock 2. It aint a FSP but **** me, was that a good game. In the FPS shooters depertment it will be Half-Life followed by Quake 2 then Duke 3d. :)

Oh And Thief is also the don. I know Thief and SS2 are not FPS, but I just have to say how good they are for some reason.
 
Deus eX and System Shock2. Much funner than shoot every thing that lives and go to whatever path that isn't blocked off.

(i know they aren't full FPS but i see and play them as ones)
 
Return to castle wolfenstein multiplayer was the best thing ever at the time

Oh man, my first game..
Castle Wolfenstein, it's awesome, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein kicks ass, I'm going to play it tonight :)
 
Its multiplayer was like DoD on the Q3 engine... and the only thing I liked about the Q3 engine was that it supported simple shaders.
 
Actually i had the most fun in dod 3.1. Though now, dod just plain sucks....sucks ass. They ruind it in 1.0. Its no longer teamplay, its all deathmatch.

3.1 was a great version, it was the best. People actually played as a team, and not to mention the garand was actually effective in 3.1

One of the most original FPS around. If you're a fan of Goldeneye or Perfect Dark you're sure to love this.

lol playing the bf1942 multiplayer was one of the best times i have had on a computer. my friend and i would play it at his house (he has 2 good pc's there) it was fun as hell.

shit, im going to download dod 3.1, if anyone wants to play 3.1 with me let me know.
 
i have to say golden eye and perfect dark.those were the funnest MP i had with my friends. side by side on the screen w/ each to our own boxed corner, lol.
 
Ehh... PD and Goldeneye had terrible MP, i hated it. But SP was loads of fun.
 
Doom had the greatest impact on me as I played it when it was first released. Not enough people give credit to how far ahead of its time the audio and atmosphere was in that game. In a way no other game had before, Doom really sucked you in.

My favorite MP game was HL deatmatch. Only because, unlike other fps mp, I really excelled at it. I was a bad man with the gauss.
 
This poll should be about FPS games that you liked OTHER than HL.

Alien vs Predator was a very cool game. The marine was the scariest campaign to play in, goddamn that motion sensor really gets your heart going.
