Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin.

Gotta love that solo
quoted for emphasis!

there's a short and not too complicated one that still sounds sweet in 40oz. to Freedom by Sublime, and the comfortably numb ones are precious.

I got a collection of the supposed 100 Greatest Guitar solos. I agree about most of them, but here are some of my favorites:

Lynyrd Skynyrd-Freebird: Absolutely incredible; it's 5 minutes of guitar playing that's orgasmic.
Pink Floyd-Comfortably Numb: The most engulfing song I've ever heard; it makes you comfortably numb.
Led Zeppelin-Since I've Been Loving You: The blues style of this song is amazingly done.

Neil Young - Cortez the Killer.
Pink Floyd - Time
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

I don't care how this comes off - Stairway is NOT overrated. Over-played? Yes. Over-talked-about? Yes. But it's still epic. I'd also like to hear any of you try that solo. ANY of you. (If someone here CAN play it, I'd be greatly interested in learning it. I've been working, but I can't seem to get certain parts accurate.)

Personally, I love the solo in Jumper by Third Eye Blind (overplayed, so sad.) There are more, but those two stand out right now.

Stevie Ray Vaughan has some good ones (Greatest guitar player of all time, hands down.)
The Eagles with Hotel California
Los Lonely Boys with pretty much all their songs. Nobody Else in particular.

Alright, i don't know many other people who like them as much as i do (as in none), but the solo in "A song for the dead" from queens of the stone age is really intensely cool to listen to.

dear god he is teh crappy ..all flash and technique absolutely no soul ..he's a Paganini hack
That would be Bach, not Paganini.

My favorite at the moment is in Golden Boy by Primus. Ler LaLonde does some odd stuff, then comes out with a quick mostly-pentatonic run and I just love it.

As for my favorite of all time...well I'll have to think about that.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

people are prolly gonna dis me for these solos. just to state its not always a great solo that makes the solo its a cool song aswell or summit.

atreyu - bleeding mascara
atreyu - deane the arsonist
at the end again
atreyu - living each day like your dead
at the end is cool

As much as i dont like the solo that much I can play it, and I havent been playing guitar that long, its one of the easier solos ive learned. Hotel california is harder lol, eruption is harder! What parts do you need help with.

By the way for the guy who said he got the 100 greatest guitar solos thing, whats it called and where did u get it and for how much?

by the way, who the **** is atreyu? nice name bahaha
