Best HL2 experiences

The whole revenge on anticitizen to kick thoose damn combines was easy the best chapter, lots of good action and thoose damn striders.

Nope, from what i remember he died, although it's been a long time since ive played it so i may be wrong.

When DOG got hit by the Combine APC, and DOG jumps on top of it, starts beating it, picks it up and throws it into the group of Combines taking cover in the building.

Anyone else reload the level just to see that part again the first time they saw it?

My favourite part starting the Benefactors level, just steppingout, looking up at the Citadel and thinking: "Holy crap. Thats big"
or the end sequence, which I think was sheer brilliance :E

I remember travelling up the citadel in a luggage carrier... a bit of a respite from desperate fire-fighting and sucking up nuklear balls to pwn combine with.

I'm pretty sure Breen died, he was freaking out while you where distroying that thing...i will replay the chapter and find out...

Well, it doesn't show him dying, but it doesn't show him escaping either.
But its safe to assuming with that rather big explosion...we will find out with AM

Because you can quite clearly see him drift to the bottom of the reactor spire in his bubble from the upper walkay, very much intact. I mean, Alyx is alot closer to the explosion than Breen - and she survives.

Granted, he is right below it but we don't know the result of the explosion just yet. We know its done critical damage to the citadel but I very much doubt its going to continue to expand.

Funny how in the beginning of Aftermath you're (supposedly) found in the rubble, yet in the end sequence of HL2, just as the place is exploding, if you look up you can actually see the very top of the Dark Energy Reactor falling towards you and Alyx.

Playing through the game today a few cool things happened.

Did a crazy barrel roll on Water Hazard.

On Black Mesa East, somehow a Vortigaunt got caught on my side of the rubble with me and Dog, and he even gave me a power boost before I left for Ravenholm.

I noticed Alyx has purple underwear on that you can see in the back when she leans forward. I can't believe they put that in.. lol.. Never saw that when I played in lower res on my last PC.

Driving across the bridge, pulling a 360 when I see the train, accelerating and actually getting PUSHED by the train until I pull away. Got a screenshot too.

Finished Route 17 on foot after I crashed the buggy into that tunnel filled with cars and zombies, barely got away with 3 health, couldn't go back and take them all on, and i dont load unless i die... so snuck into the next house thats occupied by the Combine, blasted them and got some health packs and kept it going.

Oh yeah one cool thing I noticed you can do on Route 17 when they have that Combine tank or whatever powering the shield across the road - you can actually hit the things holding the tires from across the water with a rocket or enough of the crossbow bolts, then just fly on through.. but I didn't have the car so it doesn't matter.

In Dark Energy an elite shot one of those energy balls at me, and I guess I grabbed it at the same time or something, and I went flying way far - from one side compelete across to the other..

I also noticed playing in higher res, you can read more stuff. Like for example in one part I saw a sign that said "CAUTION: Wear your respirator".

Well, I don't think your found in rubble at the beginning of Aftermath, that is most likely another part of the game because there is nothing in that clip from the teaser (when Dog is digging you out) that looks remotely like the Citadel architecture - so I believe its further on in the game.

And, I don't reckon Gordon will start at the tip of the reactor either.

I did notice the spire falling towards you - it'll be interesting to see how Alyx avoids it, since its about to collapse right above her head.

Dog will probably appear randomly and hold it off imo anyway .... well ... that most likely won't happen but it would be pretty cool to observe.
