here

IESpell is a free Internet Explorer browser extension that spell-checks text input boxes on a Web page. It should come in particularly handy for users who do a lot of Web-based text entry (e.g., Web mail, forums, blogs, diaries). Even if your Web application already includes spell-checking functionality, this utility is faster than a server-side solution. Plus, you get to store and use your personal word list across all your applications instead of maintaining separate ones on each application.
Note: The program installs as a new button in the IE toolbar (as well as a new menu item under Tools). After filling in a form, click the IESpell button and it pops up a dialogue similar to the Microsoft Word spell check.
There is NO spyware, NO additional garbage, it is pure 100% spell check!

http://www.avantbrowser.com/ - blocks any kind of unwanted(yes, it can define which ar ewanted and which aren't) pop-up. Also, can block all other media: pictures, flash animations, sounds and all other shit. Very flexible options.

erm, maybe you missed the point dude! this is a plugin to correct your spelling on any web form or applet not a new browser tool for pop ups and things...

...besides I prefer IE's speed and simplicity and I have an external pop up blocker anyway plus my custom HOSTS file and cookie/ad blocking settings take care of the crap stuff on the net cleanly :)

I also use Firebird when I want to browse tabbed or have multiple windows at once for example

That's the first thing you have to be caucious of. Whene GAIN relesed their AliGATOR, they also told everybody that there aren't any spyware and shit. But then someone sniffed it and discovered that it sends ALL the shit that he entered in the fields ot its server. This "All shit" included passwords to forums(and payed sites), credit card number; last and first name and all other privet info.

So, I wouldn't trust them before I sniffe it.

erm something tells me you're being too paranoid here.

download.com user ratings of this is 100% flawless top marks.

there is NO spyware or adware in this. it is freeware for single user use

Adaware and spybot have detected nothing of any sort relating to adware etc, this does exctly as it says, only corrects spelling, it is the MS WORD spellchecker equiv but for IE

Ah not bad at all. In fact, I like it. As an added note, I double checked the spyware claim and I have certified it clean.

i don't like being a scanner, i want zombieness ! *roar!* etc :)

i have this plugin for my brain called "knowledge." you should get it, too. that way you won't have to use a spell checker.

I have it too... when it's properly installed it works wonders!

Irony doesn't suit you.

Not everyone is perfect, EVERYONE will make a typo every once in a while.

Some of us will make a large post or reply and having to go through it to chcek for spelling errors is tedious and pointless when a simple plugin can do it in the click of a button.

Where's your knowledge horsecrap now...

Spell checkers aren't perfect... they miss out on some spelling mistakes every now and then... i prefer my knowlege to a spell checker... because that way i improve more and faster then if i click a button.

Well it was actually sarcasm, but thats not important. I know for one, when i'm sat down here in the cellar, my hands get cold. When my hands get cold, i make mistakes. I cant be bothered searching through a large body of text just to pick out a few spelling mistakes. It seems that IESpell will do that very efficiently and quickly I might even download it.

Maxi...Im curious. Do you walk everywhere? Do you go and hunt down all your own animals? I know this is a blunt way of putting it, but time savers are what the world is all about nowadays. Im sure someone of your age 50 years ago at what would be the, apparent, same level of education would laugh at your limited knowlage of language.

well if this doesn't interest you at all then it's quite simple, you don't have to use it or reply

Sorry but it just annoys me when soeone posts something useful then you have several people who think it's smart to say why it's useless....

nobody ever said that your plugin suggestion was useless. maxi and i were just suggesting that maybe learning how to spell correctly would be more beneficial and generally better for you than a spell checker would be.

also, your spell checker plugin isn't gonna help you to know the difference between sarcasm and irony. :\

and sparrow, even if your hands are cold, your spelling of "knowlage" isn't a typo...you didn't just hit the wrong key...you left out a letter and hit a key with a completely different finger. ok ok...so i was an ass with my first post...but seriously, having a spell checker won't make you any smarter...if you're worried about your bad spelling, learn how to spell instead of using some "time saver" or quick fix...

and maybe he was trying to say that your assertion that "time savers are what the world is about nowadays." is a bad thing

comparing use of a car with use of a spell checker isn't even fair...it's a totally different situation. you can learn to spell, but you can't learn to run 70 MPH.

Everyone here can spell properly, we are not illiterate in any way, spell checkers were designed for convenience. If you prefer to proof read every long post you make for spelling errors then that's your choice, your time but people like me don't really want the extra hassle and time wasting when it can be easily done.

Keyboards are not perfect, you can miss keys or double type very easily. How many times have you seen people type teh or adn or ahd ? - I've certainly done it myself and I DEFINITELY know how to spell a 3 letter word.....

No, but you can run with 10 mph, so just run to the store and don’t drive. I mean, why use tools made to help us, if our own body can do all the work in the first place? I say, move to the forest.
Spellchecker does help you to learn, if you try and remember mistakes you made.
