In your own opinion which movie has the best shooting scenes and why?

My choice is HEAT, when they leave the bank with all the money and the cops arrive, mostly because it looks so powerful and realistic, it's insane :O

Yeah second that, spectacular fight scenes IMO. Oh yeah, and Equilibrium on the spectacular side, not realistic because IMO, it would be imposible for a guy to dodge bullets like that.

The most realistic shooting scenes I've seen in a movie have to be at the end of "Proof of Life" when they go to rescue that guy.

Heat had a brilliant gun scene. Hard boiled was pretty good too.

God-dammit, all of mine got mentioned already. Heat, Equilibrium and Hard Boiled (and The Killer).

Terminator 2 scene where Arnie shoots with that minigun.

Heat, it sounded realistic, no action music, pure shooting

Open Range had a REALLY good old-west gunfight at the end, I think the best in any western EVER, very much like the shootout from heat

Damn right. I love that movie

That scene in heat is also awesome (but Black Hawk Down is a crock!)

Hard Boiled.
Lobby scene in the first matrix.
And the ones mentioned in this thread =]

I'm not sure i'd rate Band of Brothers on the shooting. It does a fine job in this regard, but there's so much else that stands out a whole lot more.

Desperado has some good gun action.

-Matrix (Lobby scene of course half of it looks retarded at full-speed in the special features but it's priceless and eternally copied in slowmo)
-Black Hawk Down (chalk it up to realism and the fact that I plan on joining the Army in the future)
-Heat (I WANNA DO THAT)
-History of Violence (has some shooting scenes that just feel real - not some hollywood hero type of shootout)

If I took the time I could think of more.

You remind me of someone, and yet i can't stand watching movies with him.

Once Upon a Time In Mexico

Quality, loved it

Matrix Lobby Scene, as was said like 10 times.

Pretty much anything with Arnold Swarzenegger in it.

Desperado, but not Once Upon a Time in Mexico, it was to fake, he shot a guy with a sawn-off shotgun and he flew like 20 feet across the room...

Almost any D-Day landing scene, and most shooting war movies, be they historic or modern.

I like the scenes in heat and in this one korean movie i forget the name of.

In the first one he looks like he is taking a dump.

desperado also had some bad ass gun fights, like when he walks into the bar for the first time with the bad ass music playing.

Yeah, the control room fight in Aliens is awesome. Completly ignores the fact that earlier in the film they say they have about 45 or something rounds in each Pulse Rifles, yet they use a good 70 each or something similar.

Also, the 'shooting range' with the gun turrets. Awesome.

I was looking to take some quick shots :p

But that whole sequence was awesome. Plus, it became the foundation for AVP2. Which is one of the best games ever. :p
