as the title suggests which one would be the better grab? I haven't played any of the games but hear clear sky was the weakest of the 3.

call of pripyat for sure

Get all of them, they're like 4 cents each on Steam.

Shadow of Chernobyl in my opinion.

Get LURK as a bonus if you want to.

Do NOT get clear sky.

That was the first Stalker game I played and left a bad impression for me.

The first one for sure. Clear Sky was not very good at all...

I enjoyed the first one, but Clear Sky I only played for a few hours and didn't like it somehow. Plus, it ran like shit and didn't look good enough to justify this.

Because we all have quintuple-core i14 processors with 12gb of ddr4 ram and 2x Nvidia GTX 600s in SLI

It's really not that hard to run, I did it on high with a tri core and a 4850

also any of them except Clear Sky

It only requires a dual core. The 'maximum' settings are improved over the console versions quite a bit, so you need a 5870 to get an average of 61 FPS (at 16x AF on a CRT resolution), as I posted earlier.

Clear Sky gets a bad press, it is a great sequel, and is superior graphically to the other two, with some nice faction mechanics (if you can be arsed to give it a chance). However, Call of Pripyat (with the SMRTER mod) is excellent and probably my favourite in terms of open world playability, but seemed to be over way too soon... more than 3 areas and a damn ferris wheel would've been good. Dated looking models, unrealistic join-the-dots environment 'hotspots', and a disappointing last area also let it down a little... but not enough to make it anything less than a superb gaming experience. Shadow of C is best for atmosphere and originality. I recommend you play all 3 in the intended order... the story will make much more sense.

Mods can make Clear Sky a fantastic game, more enjoyable than SOC for me. Took me 48 hours of constructing a modpack, but I love it. Default is quite lame indeed. Haven't played the new one yet.
