Personally, I always argue Empire, Return of the Jedi is a close second though.

Empire has a meaty story, and the bad guys basically win, which is always awesome.

For the most part the recent 3 suck.

And George is an ass for changing the original trilogy...

I'm not really a great fan of Star Wars. The old ones are okay considering the time period in which they were made, but there's really no excuse for churning out such mediocrity now. Episodes one two and three were cringe worthy.

BEST. ACTING. EVER.

Empire...no question

And I'm growing tired of people using the time a movie was released as a detraction/Addition. If it's a classic its a classic, regardless of when its released. Someone here even said that seven was pretty good considering it was released in the mid 90's...like anything better is coming out today(on a regular basis).

Okay then. In my opinion, episodes four to six aren't very good. They're not plain awful, but they're certainly not deserving of their massive following, and there are plenty of better Sci-Fi films out there regardless of date.

ep.3 is like a retarded chimp to me, it's stupid, but I still enjoy watching it's stupidness.

None of them are as good as they're made out to be, but I would have to give it to Empire as being the best. I rather liked Revenge too, I have to admit. I thought it was a pretty badass sci-fi movie and a good popcorn flick. The rest all pretty much sucked though, the only other decent one to me was Return, but the teddy bears kinda ruined it.

HA! I prefer The Empire Strikes Back, but I voted for the jackass one because it made me laugh.

Well, I've seen about 1/8 of the start of the fourth one (oldest one, where Luke isn't a Jedi yet), and the entire 2nd and 3rd ones. 2nd is the best of all the ones I've seen.

I like the 5th one the best. (I mean, episode 5)

Which asshole here besides me voted for Ep2, I want to know, I always feel so lonely in the movie section.

Episode2 is the best followed by episode5.That jar jar binks character is annoying.

George Lucas = Overrated

The only good part of episodes 1-3 was the last saber scene with Anakin and Obi-Wan (the acting was pretty good in that scene too). The first 3 were good fantasy movies for its time, but does it still deserve all the credit it gets? No. Han Solo was awesome though.

Errrr, Episode 5.

Episode 5 obviously.

I dont know why people down trod 1-3 though, I mean ok, the first was average but the lightsabre duel at the end just made it awsome imo. The second I thought was very good and the third I thought was exellent, when Obi is watching Anakin in agony on the smoldering rocks, it really did effect me emotionally because the acting was so powerful.

4-6 obviously are the best, but there is nothing wrong with the first three, in fact, putting all 6 of them together, I would say is one of the best stories ever told.

In would put in order: 5-3-6-2-4-1

Ep 3 for me. Anakin going crazy and killing everyone was badass.

I'm not big on any of them because really, they are fairly mediocre. Even the originals are fricken meh. I loved them when I was a kid and then when I went back to them earlier this year I was like woah, these kinda blow!

I chose Empire though. Episode 1, 2 and 3 are absolutely horrendous. All who say Episode 3 was an improvement on 1 and 2 are very, very wrong. That film sucked.

Empire Strikes Back easily.

And I'll just say it, I actually liked Phantom Menace. The pod race was friggin' awesome together with the Darth Maul vs. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon battle.

ep2?!? vat?!

It had a good storyline, i'll give it that, but the acting was really bad, and it had some seriously lame parts in it. (and anakin's, and obi's mullet shit, ew)

The part with Dooku and Yoda was sweet. And the part with Jango and Obi too.

Dooku is way underrated, I mean he's friggin Christopher Lee, who can not like that old dude?

Well it had a rich storyline at least. A lot of things happened, and it wasn't too predictable.

Ep. 6 Return of the Jedi

But ep 4-6 are good the other 3 are retarded.

It's a close call for me, with A New Hope just edging out Empire Strikes Back. I still very much enjoy and quite regularly watch the original trilogy and, bar much of the first movie, quite like the new ones too.

I like all the films equally. . . DISlike all the films equally, the only one I thought was good was. . . uhh. . . Return of the Jedi was DECENT. . . But I don't like one film in particular, I won't say they all suck, but I will say none of hem rank very high compaed to other films.

I loved them when I was a kid and then when I went back to them earlier this year I was like woah, these kinda blow!

.

Episode 1 was on TV the other day. I noticed they used a rather bad puppet of Yoda in this movie, instead of CG like the 3rd episode.

I'm suprised at how down everyone is on the original trilogy. They are great films if you take them at face value, Which are pretty much excuses to dish out one eye popping scene after while being wist away in a simplistic yet intriging story...No, they aren't 2001 ASO..or the godfather...or the pianist etc but, they were never meant to be.

Episode 4, Episode 5, Episode 6, Episode 1, Episodes 2 and 3 at the bottom of the shit heap

Well...all the new ones completely blow. You really can't take prefrence on them, Ep 1 is the best simply because of the final lightsaber battle. i would put that scene amoung the best action sequences of all time...the other 6 hours completely blow.

I voted episode 1 just to see the results. I've never watched a Star Wars movie in my life.

5 by a mile.

I've always debated with my friends in a very serious manner which sucked more: Episode 1, or Episode 2. I personally believe Episode 2, because while Episode 1 had Jar-Jar and young Anakin (I hated that kid for some reason), it also had Darth Maul, who in all honesty nearly made up for them with the duel at the end. Extra points for being a guest star on my favorite sitcom Spaced.

ETA: Read the sig. His opinions mirror my own.

3 was just as terrible as 1 and 2. I can't believe people think it is somewhat better. Christ, it was worse.

Why is it nobody likes George Lucas exactly?

Because he murdered Star Wars with the new trilogy

Because he is a total hack as a film maker , yet is one of the most profitable and recognizable faces in the industry.

I can't decide...3, or 6.

They both had an epic fight, and they both had an epic fight with the EMPEROR. He laid the smack down in both of those films. Plus, Vader vs. Luke in RoTJ was slightly better than his fight with him in ESB in my opinion, because Luke started to get raged and he really took it to Vader, KNOWING that he was his father, knowing that there was still some good in him, but he was blinded by what Vader was telling him about turning to the dark side, and about Leia. The thought that Vader would repeat the same sort of manipulation with one of his friends (what more a relative?) as with him drove him over the edge. And that is awesome.

Plus, Palpatine put on an awesome light show.

And then in Revenge, Anakin vs. Obi-Wan of course. Thinking about that battle puts a shit eating grin on my face. It makes me genuinely happy; seriously, as I'm typing I'm grinning ear to ear here. It just makes me like a happy little kid.

And the emperor tore it up with a lightsaber. How do you compete with that? I don't even know which one to pick.

Mmm...I'm gonna say...RoTJ, if only because in it you get to see Palpatine being really diabolical, the way he speaks and acts much more fun than in Episode 3. He's at his evilest in 6.
