best way to make jello shots?

my birthday is quickly approaching and I'm having a party and I want jello shots.

what does halflife2.net think is the best way to go about and with what alcohol?

Pay particular attention to the ratio of cold water to proof of the liquor. It needs to be right otherwise it won't set properly. If you use vodka or other liquor that's 80-90 proof you can use the recipe at the top and be fine. I usually make them with vodka.

Oh god. Jello shots are evil. My cousin once made jello shots with pure vodka and jello mix, no water.

You have a few, and it doesn't hit until the jello dissolves in your stomach.... and then you get ****ed out of nowhere.

I don't know about you guys, but I've done the "drink 2 or 3 beers than start drinking hard liquor" and I'm fine.

I just always figured it was because taking shots gets more gnarly when you have a couple liters of beer in your stomach. Just like taking shots when you've just eaten an entire pizza or something is more likely to make you puke than if you have a manageable amount of food in your stomach.

Well, when I drink strong liqueur I don't shot it, so that could be what saves me. I don't get the point of shotting; you can't enjoy the taste at all.

You should try taking sambuca or calvados or some shit to a party instead of beer/wine and just sip on it the entire night. It freaks people out.

They won't set correctly without water. You won't end up with jello. It'll just end up being a congealed glob with copious amounts of alchohol.

I can't remember a time I've ever tried jello shots. Though I was drunk from 1992-2004, so I could be mistaken.

Same here. I swear a typical night out for me is about 7 or 8 pints and then when I get drunker, liquor shots at the bar. I'm fine 19 times out of 20.
