Best weapon ever?

Never played Turok 2 - this "Cerebral Bore" piques my interest. What's it like?
It fired a little device that attached itself to it's target's head, drilled its way in, pumped out the insides, and then exploded.
Best gun design ever.

The AK-47, Carbine sniper rifle and snubnose revolver (especially with phosphorous rounds) in No-One Lives Forever

Grenade launcher from AVP
that thing was a beast - in multiplayer you were next to invincible with it

Thanks - never played WoW, but it sounds good. What about the rocket launcher in Quake I did you like that makes it better than others?

I don't know really... I guess since it was the first FPS I played online/on lan, and I owned at it.... I just think the RL in quake 1 was perfect, it was lethal, traveled at a good speed, and you could rocket jump :)

BFG 9000 - Doom
Gravity Gun - Half-Life 2
Sheep - Worms(nothing like killing your enemies with an exploding sheep)

You also had to aim this time. :|
Granted, but as long as your crossfire was on the guy then he'd go splat in no time.

True. It was just a big oar with some red letter on it but hot damn can you do some major damage when you're in red health with this baby.

I remember taking that alien-bird boss out in the three hits (the one that shoots fire). And then i took out Doku in 2 once as well. Great stuff

AVP2 had a lot of weapons that I liked. While they weren't the most balanced weapons per species, they were very true to the movies. The animation/sound were accurate enough to really get you into the game/story. Because Fox made it, they were able to go back (as much as they could - they apparently had a hard time finding original sound files from the first Alien movie) and use authentic movie sounds. The Predator had a very impressive arsenal - every weapon (even if it was only fired once in the movie) was in the game. I particularly liked the spider grenades. Dodging them was super fun.

True, that, about the Alien headbite being a good weapon. I always played as the small, fast Alien because it was totally challenging to step up to a room full of Marines and Predators with only a melee attacks. You had to be stealthy.

Monolith made the game, i'm pretty sure Fox just gave them the right to make it, as they own the Alien franchise
