Game Overview

Money used to be the root of all evil…now it is the root of all survival…

For eighty years war has been raging and has now become the only focus of the human race. Everybody either fights or works somewhere in the war machinery. Fighting isn’t just about staying alive anymore, it is about making money. Federations with open control over governments created Bet On Soldier, a TV show where soldiers fight to entertain the masses and to generate profits.

This is where you come in. As Nolan Daneworth your past is a blur. Brief glimpses of fights and battles seem like remnants of past dreams. The dreams turn to nightmares when you discover your fiancée brutally murdered. The only links to the murder are the Bet on Soldier champions “The Boryenkas Brothers.”

Desperate for revenge and the truth, you enrol in the Bet on Soldier tournament and head for an inevitable clash with these brutal B.O.S champions.

It’s not going to be easy – you can bet your life on it.

The game just went gold, expected to be on shelves in the UK on September 23rd and in the United States on September 26th.

This 541MB demo includes three character classes and two missions: a tutorial level titled Patrol and large map called Cargo Bay that also allows you to jump into exoskeletons.

just played 1 of the levels, patrol...

not bad, the intro to the game was cool and the weapon selection is pretty sweet, you get 3 weapon slots to fill with mgs, shotguns, miniguns, rocket launchers, sniper rifles etc....then different types of nade.

the lvl i played wasnt too impressive, pretty linear and dull, it reminded me of a game released a few years ago built on the quake 3 engine which was set against the idea that world war 1 never ended...

a bit bland alright, might try the second level, definately wont buy it...

Me two. Installed starforce (I don't know why it did), restart, my computer didn't recognise my keyboard and mouse even though it always does. Plugged in an old one, loaded up the game, crashed when I pressed play mission.

With the name "Bet on Soldier" I'm not expecting much. The screens look like it has some pretty good graphics but it just screams "budget title".

Pretty average shooter, but I did like the locational armour damage that you could do to enemies. All in all though, fairly bland.

I think the multiplayer component is going to be the main draw for BoS as they've developed a "betting" system which allows you to place bets with other people on who will win in a match and then upgrade your equipment accordingly. I think there's also going to be different leagues so n00bs will be able to play other n00bs and not have to face off against people with really strong characters.

I don't know, I'll wait until I've seen the reviews of the full retail version with multiplayer included. For example Battlefield 2's single player is terrible, but the multiplayer is excellent.

I'm downloading it now- from what I read in PCGamer, it sounds like a pretty cool idea. I'm not a big fan of deathmatch though, just the customisation elements.

I played and beat the demo, both missions. For one, it kind of sucks that you dont get guns on your exoskeleton.

the graphics were fairly good, though the animations sucked, and the level designs were uninspired and boring.

And before each level, you got to pick your boss out of this... like... league
or something, it would go all cinematic and show the opening for a television show called"Bet On Soldier" where i guess people are supposedly betting on who wins, you or the other guy, and your rank is kept track of and such, with this announcer guy "It's time for BET ON SOLDIER!"

All in all - 3/10 - interesting idea, and they started to get there, but its no good.

Plus, afterwords, my mouse scrollbutton wont scroll any IE/firefox windows and everything is running slow as piss.

I don't know about you guys, but for some reason this game actually appealed to me.. I liked the action packed part of it.. The bosses and what not were a little cheesy.. I can see the little 'Welcome to B.O.S.' message getting annoying after a while.. It was pretty cool how the armour got damaged and you had to have your engineer repair yours.. But he didn't repair my second guys which doesn't make sense. Hopefully, they fix all of the animations fixed. When they parachuted, they stayed in one remote position.. They ran like f'n robots.. They moved like they were flying on ice and what not.. I think this game has serious potential.. At the moment I will only give it 6/10.. It did keep my attention for longer than 2 minutes and it left me wanting more..
Can't wait till this hits retail.

i can hardly see enemies in the turret level, but the european level sucked ass!!! it's so linear and it's just about shooting hordes of soldiers in a small area

doesnt work for me... when i play i get to the part where the door explodes, then my game alt+tabs out telling me my ATI driver is not responding, then i play some more, shoot a few guys, then my game crashes.
