Yes BUT the agp version is too ship Very soon :naughty:

Or you could get the X800SE when it is released. It's AGP. ;)
Either one is great though. If you can get a 6600GT or X800SE for 200$ then go for it. They are no worse than the 9800pro and generally a lot better.

Personally I would really check out the X800SE, especially if you plan to play a lot of HL2. ;)

The only reason the X800Pro doesn't win over the 6800GT for overall performance is because Nvidia made a last minute change before launch to 16 pipelines while the X800pro was already launched at 12 pipelines. Check out the X800XT PE vs 6800Ultra and that shows equal pipelines giving ATI the lead overall.

I believe both the 6600GT and X800SE have 8 pipelines and 256Bit memory bus with 128MB memory. But the X800SE has the full 6 vertex shader units while the 6600GT only has 3. Same price range, 200-300$.

When will the x800se be out in Canada or in the USA matter of fact

Both sound like good cards, I still haven't bought one yet, but i'm seeing 9800 Pro's for $180, it's under $200 for the first time i've seen!

Actually I'm not sure. I would assume fairly soon.
I just read up on this news post a few days ago. link

Pretty much spot on. Though from my understanding, the X800se is going to take on the 6800 in performance and price terms.

To counter the 6600/6600 GT, ATI is releasing the X700 (Pro, plain, and XT). Only the 6600 GT ($200), X700 Pro ($200) and X700 XT ($250) will be above the 9800 Pro in performance terms. The 6600 and X700 will most likely perform below the 9800 Pro, they are going to be priced at $150.

If that confuses you, good. It does a good job of confusing me as well. You should be happy you bought an awesome card for an awesome price before you had to spend 2 weeks learning about 8 different graphics cards.

As for the 6600 GT, it is anticipated release date is late September. That means the 6600 GT won't the streets in any type of quantity for several weeks after that. So don't worry about it too much.

Ah ha! I wondered how they would match up since the specs didn't quite.
Sorta forgot about the X700 when thinking about all of this.

Yeah, really the 9800pro will serve you well. If you want to return it and wait for these other cards, that is up to you.

Here are some benchmarks for the X700 Pro. Very respectable and I'd like to see some benchies from other games (HL2 stress test/CSS/Farcry etc) and also the X700 XT now. :)
XT should be about 250$ while the Pro should be 199$ Link
