BF1942 or Halo?

hey guys, i have some extra cash to burn now that i will be waiting another 2 or 3 months for half life 2, so i can either buy BF1942 OR halo, but not both. i played halo at a friends house on his xbox and its pretty fun tbh, but i dunno, BF1942 looks cool too. so which should i get?

Battlefield, then you can get Desert Combat, 5th most played mod, thats what it was at a couple weeks ago, and then i can shoot you out of the sky when you, Inevitably, stand by the airfield until you get into an aircraft and take off. haHA!

I got BF1942 about 2 months ago and it is a lot fo fun. But I've had a lot of issues with the game - like where I have to repatch it at least every other day, sometimes every time I play, just so that it works correctly. it seems like its install gets corrupted alot very easily, and I don't know why either. But usually patching a lot fixes it, but sometimes, every other week maybe, I've had to uninstall the game and reinstall it for it to work correctly. It's just that sporadically it sometimes won't let me into servers saying I have "Data that Differs from Servers" i've cheked EA's support forums but no one had any good help. basically I guess you didn't need all that info, but it's a buggy game for me. maybe Halo won't be any better, but I guess I'll find out tomorrow when I buy it. But BF1942 is a lot of fun for mw when I get it to work. Killing tons of people while driving around a tank can be very satisfying.

Yeah, its the only game where I managed to stay in the same tank for about 20 minutes, and racking up a score of 40 kills and 0 deaths

But I got bored of it. All the patches never gave the players what we NEEDED (ie key-linked short commands with custom text or sound) to play it good... No, they just came out with a bunch of CRAP! I loved the STG, but then they borked the sound. And the same patch made you slide around like on ice. The new shaking when firing just made me nauscious. Then all the mods started to come in force, which only grew and grew and grew and grew... It wasnt fun to download them anymore, not worth my time. I never even liked DC very much, it was too powerfull with the weapons and vehicles. But that *might* have had something too do with the fact I was with EoD, when we concentrated on making infantry combat better

And I havent even played Halo, so I cant vote anything.
Except RTCW: ET. That's the one to get waiting for HL2. Isnt expensive either.

hmm... tricky one u might say...

ok Battlefield has an average gameplay but with the mod Desert Combat its great. there r negatives tho.. like it takes nearly two minutes to load up a map. newbie's who TK are quite common and there seem to be a lot of technical issues.

Now we come to Halo. Some ppl decide for some strange reason that this game sux (Maybe to be rebelious or something). But halo is a great game having played it on XBox and PC!. the Loading times are non existent in the PC version, unlike BF, and the engine is the best engine in any game ever released, in my opion.. until HL2 comes out maybe. and the fact is that the game is great already who knows what kind of mod's could be produced from that fantastic engine.

Another point is that there are more varied gametypes with Halo, unlike BF where 99% of the Servers are conquest.

So i guess im suggesting that Halo is the choice and guess what it's cheaper!

I'd go for Halo. Although I enjoy BF - love the vehicles and maps - the fighting sux :/ It's not a good engine for running about with guns .. which is what I like

About the performance i really couldn't say because i dont actually have the REAL! PC game yet.
