The demo also unleashes the power of ten of the 16 new weapons in Secret Weapons of WWII. Fly and fight at the same time with the experimental German rocket pack, or buzz the skies in one of the new compact dynamo fighter planes—the Axis Natter rocket plane or the Allied F-85 Goblin. Both the Axis and Allies also have new motorcycles with machine gun-mounted sidecars, as well as amphibious assault vehicles: the German Schwimmwagen and the American LVT-2 Water Buffalo. The new Axis Flakpanzer, a T-38 tank with an anti-aircraft gun mounted on top, is a nasty beast—but it looks tame compared to the Allies’ Sherman tank with a T-34 Calliope rocket launcher.

With all this plus new hand-held weapons such as silenced SMGs, new assault rifles, and deadly throwing knives, become a deadly force on the most intense virtual battlefields ever created. BF1942 is an awesome game, but I'm kinda iffy of the whole "secret weapons" thing. Anyway... I hope it turns out good. Hopefully, I'll get to play with some of you guys when the demo's out. :)

I lost my original BF CD thinking it was no big deal.. but then i had a virus... now im pissed off..
 
I dunno, ill give it a try. BF and its expansions are stupid these days, i only play mods. BF:V looks pretty good though. I doubt ill buy SW.
 
Sweet! I wanna try out those jetpacks. Desert Combat for bf1942 is the best though. ;)
 
in a way i'm looking forward to the expansion (not to much the jet pack though :x ) but battlefield vietnam looks very cool and i cant wait for it

I actually think Battlefield Vietnam is schelduled for an November release date. /runs to get pcgamer mag
 
The demo's out now, but so far only on Fileplanet and FileShack, so you'll have to wait in line for it :/
 
Thanks for posting the link Northwood, but my download is almost done.
 
Im kinda dissapointed....I dont think ill be buying it. Desert Combat is a lot more fun than this, even if it has more vehicles in the full version.
 
WTF!?, no matter which server I join, it asks me for a password :flame: , lol yes I did look to see if there was a padlock, there wasnt, (i'm not that thick), any ideas ?
 
Well, I just got thru playing two rounds of the demo and it might as well be a $30 mod for BF1942. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty fun with the new vehicles and stuff, but I'm with Northwood... DC's a bit more fun than Secret Weapons. I may just pass on this one.
 
I just d/led it ill play it soon. Im almost positive that ill pass on this one too. I learned my lesson from buying RtR.

My feelings exactly, It just feels like a mod. DICE didnt really do anything but add some vehicles and call it an expansion pack. Plus they put some really bad vehicles in the demo..I mean cmon whos going to use that rolling brick?
 
EA/Dice are just plain old ****ed up in the head. They give the allies some remington instead of a garand? What the hell is wrong with them! You cant have a WWII game without a garand. They give the axis a G43, and are worried about balance? Cmon you stupid ****s! They give the axis a 98K with a shot cup, and are worried about balance? Cmon you stupid ****s! They will never learn, SW will turn out to be another stupid ass flop from them.
 
Well i'll be waiting for BF:Vietnam now, whats the date on it?
 
Ahh yes, BFV looks good, except for their stupidness again. They actually have an M16A2, when the M16A1 was used in 'nam. There was no M16A2 in 'nam!
 
So do you have to have the BF1942 game installed 1st before you can play the demo?

BF Vietnam looks very good! I cant wait fot it.
 
thenerd: Nope, you DON’T need BF1942 to install it or play it.
 
I played it. Wasn't bad. But I expected better.
 
Is there a program that could allow me to download this demo on and off and save my place in the download. A 164 MB and 56k connection means I spend about 12 hours stright on the internet. And that happens.... never.

If you find a http or ftp site that has the demo... you can use a download manager to pause and resume your download or you can use Bittorrent.
