Same, I haven't played BF2 is a week or two.

Wow, that looks cool. Its all night time and what-not, its gunna be great. Also, I do not see anything wrong with BF2 besides the server brower occassinally not wanting to show me servers. I mean, the game is fine and yes there are tiny things that bug me about it, but that does not stop me from playing it. You guys will be waiting for quite a while then.

This game should focus on objective-based missions like Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Enemy Territory did.
That would awesome.

IGNPC: So hopefully a lot of that stuff will be taken care of before this expansion comes out.

Yee: Hopefully.
Not good. I dont like the idea of paying another 50 dollars for a grappling hook and night vision.

Yeah, that's TOTALLY worth it...:|

Woo! SAS! With a full compilment of authintic weaponry :D and with dodgy English accents (Probably).

Now all we need is the Royal Marines.

That would rock :P

This news has actually kind of killed any interest I had in buying BF2.. I've been waiting to buy a cheap version cause I wasn't sure how much support EA would put into the game and now I know.. NONE. Pathetic. This "expansion" sounds like any half assed mod for any other game.

Outside of ziplines and nightvision theres no new features, and they aren't changing anything with the Commander mode which I think could be easier to use and have more versitility, like having a click and drag selection window for teammates, and actually clicking on a command and then selecting it on the map like in a real RTS instead of having to select the fireteam and then having to right click the mouse and scroll through the options, oh and how about being able to issue orders to non squad members (DuH) since most people don't join them anyways, etc..

This news actually makes me appreciate Valves slow-ass support for HL2 (though it still pales in comparison to HL1). Someone should fill EA's email accounts with links to Epic and Valve's free content updates after their games have shipped. They are milking people almost as bad as Bungie did with that Halo2 expansion pack.

Well said. It looks like it has potential, but if that's all they're adding, one new helo, a grappling hook and night vision, there's no way I'm paying for it.

That's really well-said! They seriously need to fix the commander mode, and the game needs more optimization, server browser fixes, etc. I think I'm going to pray in vain that they'll be fixed w/ the expansion or before that...

They really need something like Steam. Then you don't have to worry about rolling back f***ed-up patches because no one can't :D

they're going to milk this series for all its worth. i didn't buy bf:v because i felt the same way. i can almost guarantee that i won't buy this expansion.

They need to worry about BF2 first before thinking of working on an expansion, BF2 needs some fixes, its most priority ATM. Yes I agree if its just a different player models, grappling/zip tie and a helicopter, no way I'm paying $50 for, maybe only $20 if they add more things to it....

i agree

but wtf? the expansion this autumn? already? excuse me if i'm cynical, seems a very small period, methinks stuff was cut from bf2 for this 'expansion'.

plus the already limited ranked servers in europe will surely change to the expansion too.

also no new gamemodes? ffs...:upstare:

I suggest no one buy this :|

It looks like a really bad way to spend $40 - $50

50 bucks for an expansion??? how much is a full game in the states? surely you dont pay that much for expansions?

if its more than 35 euros here, no chance i'm buying it.:frown:

Full games are $50, expansions are usually $20, but now they seem to be heading towards $30 and I am sure EA will love to hop on that bandwagon.

I predict Z, that you will be getting a copy before us, USA'ers get ourselves a copy.

I don't think you understand the purpose of commander mode. The game is buildt around squads, not clumps of lone wolfs. It is just another incentive to join a squad, you get nothing from the commander if you aren't in one. I don't think the game needs any more incentives to not be in a squad.

I do, I think the non-squad players should be banned, they act like little girls when I don't drop supplies, etc because I cannot keep track of them. I also politely ask everyone to get in squads, doesn't matter if they are in a squad by themselves, just get in one. That fails also

Just ignore them if they don't go into a squad, you can't do anything else. Just support the people who are playing, and not complaining, or are in a squad.

Well, look at it this way: Patches = no revenue. High-priced expansions = big revenue. Would you expect any less from €A?

(btw, I'm laying claim to the above Electronic Arts version of M$ :) )

I agree, before every round there should be about a minute where everyone squads up and the commander draws up plans, and anyone who doesn't squad up is forced into a squad.

thats quite a good idea, i agree with disturbed's point too about just making your own squad for yourself so you can atleast communicate with the commander. i do that alot as i tend to score better on my own but it all depends on what type of squad you get and the calibre of squaddie you have, in some squads you're better off on your own tbh, some squads are painstakingly slow to get moving...

I think the apache is the best new addition, with night vision. Other then that theirs nothing that says I gotta have this.

you don't understand how a company like EA works. theres one team at EA that works on patches/new maps and a completely different team that works on the expansion. lets just hope the team that takes care of patching does well.

Will the Apache do anything the Cobra doesn't already do? I would presume it is just a new 3dmodel with the Cobra underneath it.

The expansion just looks utterly, utterly pointless. What is the whole point of ziplines and grappling hooks, the only thing that is worth anything is the pure infantry maps and nightvision and they can hopefully be modded in for free...and flashbangs just sound gay on a battlefield, outside of the terrorist vs counter terrorist games like Counterstrike.

TBH, the Cobra isn't all that great to me, all the other helicopters are better IMO :/

Which one is the Cobra? I like the MEC attack chopper the best, very manueverable and has an awesome gunner weapon.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that; it can't manuever, and the cannon is too slow to be able to get shots on infantry on the ground. Plus, it's incredibly wide.

I pray this expansion pack doen't cost more than $29.99. The Sims 2 University was $34.99 when it came out  . Maybe if we're lucky they'll repeat the same mistake and lower the price to $20 after 3 months...

probably couldnt have summed it up better myself, pretty much how i feel.

Well im a apache fan, yeah you can say just anotehr 3d model etc, not that is enough for me to buy this in the first place, but we might all be too hasty to judge this afterall who has played it? it could be good. Honestly other titles have tied up my money for the rest of the year so bf2 exp is gunna have to work harder then this for my $$$.

Nonsense, it's far more manueverable than the Cobra, plus it's better at hovering. The gunner weapon is the best thing I've seen on any vehicle, it can tear holes into infantry and light vehicles. It's a very devastating weapon, I got my 41 kill streak with it. Plus, in a dog fight, I've noticed, the MEC attack chopper totally ****ed up the Cobra, not only because it handles better, but because of the gunner weapon.
