agreed - the ridiculous idea that a 4ft long sniper rifle that can only be fired in real life while prone is perfectly accurate at 20m while firing a lighter, smaller assault weapon at the same range results in wild misses is insane - not to mention that a 7.62 bullet would be as lethal (results wise) as a .308 at that range

i don't hate CS:S, it just frustrates me SO much that the game has got so much potential yep it's completely untapped!

CS:S has it's failings but Valve is continuously working on improving the 3D engine, online code, game balance and adding new content for free. This is a very often occurrence with Valve updates regularly.

BF2 players are still stuck with a very unbalanced, glitchy and lag-prone game and EA/DICE haven't even released their 3rd patch yet, and BF2 is coming up to a year old. No new content as such, not free anyway.

And while we're on realism, CS:S may not be super-realistic but it's much, much more realistic than BF2.

BF2 has sold less copies than BF42, just slightly more than BF:V. To this day there are almost as many servers of BF42 and it's mods as there are of BF2. And there are no EA BF42 servers any more, it's all community. Also after a year of release there are hardly any decent mods for BF2 while by now the BF42 mod scene was in full swing. There is only one reason to buy BF2, it's mods - DC, EOD, FH, POE (the BF2 versions). But this would mean one buys a crap game just for the mods, paying money on a promise.

Face it BF2 is a joke. Even hardened followers of the BF games like myself have turned their back on the franchise. BF:V was a disappointment and a lot of promises were made for BF2 but it's still failed to recapture the magic of BF42 and it's amazing mods like DC, BG42, MC, FH, SH, EOD, GC and many, many more. BF2 is a waste of time, money and effort.

Yea, because CS:S has SOOO few bugs. They may patch the game every month, but how come they can't fix the awp reload bug, and the silencer attach/remove bug?

After i played DOD:S this weekend, i realized what CS:S should be like. That was much more fun in terms of gun recoil, damage, and accuracy. A prone support really could take out 5 or 6 guys, while in CS:S a crouched guy with the m249 will only get himself killed by the very first guy.

I never said CS:S has few bugs but it has a lot less bugs than BF2. What I did say is that the game gets patched very often to fix those bugs where as in BF2 there's only been 2 patches in nearly 1 year.

Yes I would like to see the ability to fix the MG for good accuracy, go prone, the silencer bug and the AWP reload bug fixed. The new map Militia has a lot of issues that could do with fixing also. But the support for CS:S so far it's miles better than BF2. There have been a crazy ammount of issues fixed in CS:S already. I'm much more confident of having bugs/glitches fixed, new content added and balance issues ironed out in CS:S than I'd ever be if I owned BF2.

Oh and I own DOD, it's a good game and I play that as much as I play CS:S and again it's Source. Couldn't really say if it's really better than CS:S, they're about the same. The mods coming out for Source are mouth-watering, Insurgency anyone?.

As for BF2 being alright I think it will take more than a day to decide whether or not it's "fixed". Are you a tester for BF2 btw?

OK for example, check to see if the missiles lock is as crap as it was before, where it was impossible to shoot someone with a SAM or AA missile if they know what they're doing. Or if you're behind an enemy plane and you fire the missile and the enemy plane does not fire chaff or flares, doesn't even change direction. The missile goes straight past him and locks on to an enemy plane and kills 2 team mates. Not to mention the missiles themselves are not powerful enough. The helicopter and plane physics suck anyway. Did they fix that? Does the helicopter handle like a helicopter now and not like a brick?

Or how about the Blackhawk whoring? The grenade launcher spamming? Bunny-hopping? Prone bunny-hopping? Did they take out the stupid unlocks system to stop stat whoring? Did they remove the artillery feature from commander mode to stop them ruining the game with their retarded and stat whoring use? Perhaps bring back the team building old artillery use from BF?

If they really fixed all of that and more I'll buy the game again.

AA missiles work good enough to the point that there are dedicated people who just sit at AA and shoot down choppers jets. Basically to survive you have to flare / manuevre, otherwise you're toast. Damage-wise it takes like 2-3 AA shots, they also reduced AA reload time by a good chunk.

Helicopter and plane physics I've never had a problem with, all it takes is practice to fly well with it. Nade launcher's AOE got reduced and has minimum activation time, they seem to play a smaller role now (at least in pubby servers.) Bunnyhopping / dolphin diving / prone spamming have been removed or fixed.

Stat whoring can still exists, although personally I rarely encounter them anyway.

Both are great games, in their own respect. They're both First Person Shooters which is about the only similarity between the two. Besides that, they're completely different games.
