Its the same as every other bit of scientific evidence the church refused to acknowledge throughout history because it conflicted with their beliefs. I'm still amazed that young-Earth creationists don't believe the Earth is flat and the universe is geocentric.

It sickens me to see someone misleading children and filling their heads with nonsense. Parents and educators need to keep their theological opinions to themselves, and not force them upon malleable and gullible children. Our goal as parents and educators should be to teach children only the facts, and let them decide theological and political opinions on their own. To see someone spouting such garbage to children is disturbing, yet I know it occurs every day in religious schools, homes and Sunday schools.
