I didn't plan on posting, but just came here looking for people doing machinima.... but....

Doesn't the sticky at the top say to not bash people's mod ideas who are looking for help? Yet, two moderators are doing just that... I think this guy was just looking for other people interested in his mod, not to be told to change the name of his mod or be told that his modeling sucked OR to be told that his story was unorigional. He didn't ask for opinions, he asked for members interested. Maybe the reason why you (and your friend and your other friend) see so many mods like this come and go is because you attack them. Seriously, read the sticky at the top. It'll do you some good. You're moderators. You should be above this.

You can't flame no. But I refuse to go along with some half arsed rule not allowing people to be honest about mods. I can't for the life of me see where only allowing positive comments will help anyone. I just don't see how protecting any mod here is a good thing. It's not like this is the only place HL gamers go. Wrapping up a mod team in cotton wool isn't going to be too helpful once other sites get on them for some lame idea, or Usenet do.

Telling someone their idea is great when its not will just waste their time and others and they'll just have a terrible mod at the end (if they manage to finish it) get themselves bad names and end up being shunned by other teams who wont want to take them on because of their track record.

No big deal for me, but I think you guys were a little violent with this guy. When someone takes the time and effort to write and model, it becomes their baby. Yes, when/if the mod kicks off that stuff can/will be altered, but there is no need to be so harsh about it. There is critisism and there is constructive crtisism. How the hell do you spell critisism... I am blanking here... I guess that is right.

I'm not vested in this guy, and I think it was an old post re-bumped by some n00b. I just hope when I propose my machinima idea I don't get as harsh of replies as him.

As a super-moderator.. do you get a cape and tights? Do you wear the underwear on the outside of your tights?

As a super moderator, he actually should have mentioned your sig being too long by one line , and I think we're all in agreement that tights and capes on the staff is a bad idea.

And as staff you and Badger shouldn't have been flaming him for no reason, or spamming holding silly conversations between each other that had no relevance to his mod. By all means put down the mod if its crap, but you can't flame or spam for the sake of it

and we all know Badger's a spamqueen
