Big Picture Mode, Valve's optional Steam UI redesign, left beta earlier today and is now available to all Steam users. The mode, which features full controller support, was developed to allow gamers to more easily access and play their favourite PC titles on larger televisions anywhere in the home. Valve have also announced that Big Picture mode is available in over twenty languages, and that over 800 Steam titles feature partial controller support, while 70 feature full support.

Steam gamers may easily experience Big Picture on their televisions by connecting their PC or Mac, typically with a single HDMI cable. Big Picture also includes a new web browser designed for televisions and game controllers. It is accessible from anywhere within the Big Picture UI, and even while playing Steam games on a TV.

Hopefully you didn't spend too much money during the Steam Autumn Sale, because Valve have announced the week long "Celebration Sale" to accompany the release. The sale is a week long, lasting from today, December 3rd 2012, until December 10th at 10am pacific standard time and is intended to celebrate Steam's "Controller-Friendliest" games including titles such as Left 4 Dead, Magicka, Deadlight, Sonic Generations and many others.

Head on over to Steam's Celebration Sale page here and check out the other titles also available for offers up to 75% off. Don't forget that, while they aren't included in the sale, the Orange Box games (Half-Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2 and Portal) now all feature Big Picture Mode support after an update last week.

Semi-surprised to see Sonic Generations down as full controller support when all the options are in a separate config programme that is only navigable by mouse. It also does this annoying thing where if your controller is momentarily disconnected or you press Enter then it stops registering the controller and you have to use the keyboard to exit the game and restart it. It's a really good game otherwise though.

Edit: Apparently the pushed an update to make the config tool usable with a controller and at the same time fixed a couple of issues the game has had for over a year: It now detects nVidia Optimus cards, it crashes less often when trying to do a ranked time trial, it no longer crashes on Rouge's Seaside Hill mission. Nice to see Valve indirectly getting SEGA to fix up their game.

Also this.

Glad to see Orcs Must Die 2 on there. I wanted to buy that yesterday for me and my girly's bro so we can play together, and now, I can!

EDIT: Can anyone tell me how good the Amazing Spider-Man game is?

LAST EDIT! What other games? :D

Loving the controller support so far. Loving the interface even more; controller navigation is a synch with its layout. It's like the console interface I never had.
Sadly, my controller is having major configuration issues with Source games. L4D2 thinks the pause button is R2. No skin of my back as it was a controller I bought spontaneously like six years ago.
I think just for this mode I may consider picking up a better USB controller.

There are programs out there that let you emulate any controller you want as an Xbox 360 controller. It tends to solve most issues with modern games and such. Google x360ce or MotionInJoy.
