Can anyone refer me to a place where I could get a turbocharger and intercooler for a 2001 BMW M3, either online or a shop, thx :)

ok, so i did a google search for "BMW performance parts" and "BMW performance parts turbocharger" and these are some of the links that clicked on that looked interesting. However the last link i have posted looks like it has some good info and perhaps a link in that article about where you can find a turbo for your M3.

edit: also did a serch for "BMW forced induction"

dude you f-ing rock, thx for them links, i'm gonna do some reading now, looks difficult but still worth it.:bounce:

it's thanks to people like anthrax why i still like this community <3 <3 <3

There should be a sticky thread about how useful google is...and that ppl should use it first before they ask on the forums :)

Then again...the more threads the better...sorta

Difficult..just a bit. A turbo is not exactly a bolt on project. Especially if you plan on doing one right, in which case add another $700 bucks for low compression pistons. Of course you could go the honda route and just buy a thicker head gasket for $100. Personally, i've always preferred superchargers to turbos, check this one out:

I'm in the process of rebuilding my head after a port and polish job that took me nearly a month, i take it down to the machine tomorrow to be decked and acid dipped before i put it back together, then next (performance wise) i'm shooting for a twin screw charger from Bahnbrener.

Actually it pretty much is. If an RSX with 11.x:1 compression can run 7-10psi easily, then I think the m3 can run a turbo on stock internals.

wow ur suping up a bmw?! thats so awesome ur so lucky man. i already opened up a new bank account for my future car. im 15.

thx again for the links Anthraxx...
i know for a fact my 2001 M3 will handle the turbo on stock internals, however, it won't last as long if it ain't done right.
however, xcellerate, i'm a poor broke bastard at this point, so I won't be going for the $700 pistons just yet :bonce:

btw, what are you planning on getting Darkknighttt?

Dude the only way the stock internals won't hold up is if you don't have the right tuning. Thats the only problem I for-see, btw my friend just got his 2.4L GT35R Eclipse GSX up, it idles like a dirty whore. :p going to be around 500-600awhp.

Is it an original M3, or a serie 3 with m3 bodykit ?

2001 M3= E46 body style, or E36? I forgot which year they started making the E46 :(

2000 and up is E46 if I'm not mistaking, E36 is too boxy for me

boxy is the only way to go. Of course, i do drive a GTi. The e30 is my favorite.
