That is Carmen Sandiego dumbass.

[When] asked if he had a good idea where Bin Laden is, he said: "I have an excellent idea of where he is. What's the next question?"

Doesn't anyone else find this a little vague...

Well you gotta give Bin Laden credit, he's evaded capture this long despite nearly the entire planet looking for him.

Osama is just a figment of your imagination. Like Santa or the easterbunny used by the government to controll stupid people like YOU! *points finger*

they have to keep us thinking that it'll be "any day now" ..."we're hot on his heels" ..."we've picked up the paper trail and cut off his resources, it's just a matter of time now"

Thats right, the Marines did. Or is that a lie?

You know that joke about the US Military getting its intel from CNN? Yeah, well, it's not exactly a joke...

Funny though, they are going off of rumours.

He is captured, it doesn't really matter how.

Nah. Its much more fun to fight about who caught him. :)

sure it does ..you just cant see the ramifications ...probably because you didnt read the article ..scratch that, I doubt even then, no offense

actually, it's really smart telling Osama you know where he is, the more he stays on the run, the more chance for him to slip up and get caught, it's actually a good tactic if it works out

And if it doesn't work out (something of very high probability) then you just chase him for eternity.

No, it's not a good tactic. With all our technology, our manpower, and our intel, we need to put on theatrics and hope that he slips up? Lord almighty...

better than not doing anything

Well, if we weren't wasting all our troops in Iraq...

18,000 US troops in afghanistan looking for osama (well not ALL looking for osama ..others are just trying to keep the "safezone" from falling) ...over 150,000 troops in iraq ...doing god knows what

Exactly. That's why he's lying.

what would they do in afghanistan? spread out in lines and walk through? we're far better off with spec ops gathering intel and capturing personnel to interrogate, besides, its doubtful he's even in afghanistan, and I doubt many other countries would just freely allow our thousands of our troops to walk through their countries looking for osama
please, think it through

if the war on terror is actually about fighting terror ...it begs the question as to why they made a side trip to Iraq when the perpetrators of the biggest attack on american soil were pretty much ignored in comparison

hmmm... well, it offers a great distraction for terrorists from other countries, keeps them from all coming over to america

Osama bin Laden is far more likely to be in Afghanistan than in Iraq. Please, think it through.

1.) Why not just let the terrorists come to Afghanistan and blow the shit out of 'em there? How is Iraq necessary for such a strategy?

2.) We started a war on false pretenses, lied to the world and the American people, lost both American and Iraqi civilian lives... all for the sake of a distraction that, let's face it, is not working out all that well?

Iraq is a more central location, and , well, for all we know Bin Laden is in Iraq

those terrorist groups didnt exist pre-invasion of iraq ...iraq galvanised generations of soldiers into fighting a common enemy ...and just to be clear ...the invasion of iraq pretty much guarantees terrorism will once again visit the US ...sooner or later it'll make 9/11 look like a cake walk in comparison

Yes, the mastermind (cough) behind 9/11 is going to risk his neck in the Middle Eastern area with the most fighting going on. Unlikely.

And Iraq's location doesn't make such a distraction any more acceptable.

it's bound to happen anyways, they already saw how effective 9/11 was of course they're going to attack again, but if this takes some of the legions away from those looking to attack america, then good

yes but this time there's far more groups willing to attack the US ...because of iraq

It's worked before -- so since you have a better idea on what works, get on that satellite imagery, command those troops, and you get Bin Laden.

No, "heh, I would do a better job", it's, "Now's your shot -- now do it."

Heck, get off and away from your computer desk and find him for us. My bets on a closet somewhere in Pakistan.

Not entirely accurate -- there's apparently more service in Al-Qaeda, but not much has changed on the scale of different forces of opposition to us.

Infact, there is now just as many rage-filled anti-us terrorists, as there are now rage-filled anti-terrorists out there. How it all stacks up, I'm not sure, but I don't believe the spectrum to be as bad.
