[When] asked if he had a good idea where Bin Laden is, he said: "I have an excellent idea of where he is. What's the next question?"

He is captured, it doesn't really matter how.CptStern said:not entirely...read the whole article ..there's credible evidence including the $25 million reward
I caught him, my mother says so.Dag said:Nah. Its much more fun to fight about who caught him.

Icarusintel said:actually, it's really smart telling Osama you know where he is, the more he stays on the run, the more chance for him to slip up and get caught, it's actually a good tactic if it works out
better than not doing anythingAbsinthe said:And if it doesn't work out (something of very high probability) then you just chase him for eternity.
No, it's not a good tactic.
Absinthe said:Well, if we weren't wasting all our troops in Iraq...
Exactly. That's why he's lying.KoreBolteR said:why post it to the media????

what would they do in afghanistan? spread out in lines and walk through? we're far better off with spec ops gathering intel and capturing personnel to interrogate, besides, its doubtful he's even in afghanistan, and I doubt many other countries would just freely allow our thousands of our troops to walk through their countries looking for osamaAbsinthe said:Well, if we weren't wasting all our troops in Iraq...

please, think it through
hmmm... well, it offers a great distraction for terrorists from other countries, keeps them from all coming over to americaCptStern said:if the war on terror is actually about fighting terror ...it begs the question as to why they made a side trip to Iraq when the perpetrators of the biggest attack on american soil were pretty much ignored in comparison

Iraq is a more central location, and , well, for all we know Bin Laden is in IraqAbsinthe said:Osama bin Laden is far more likely to be in Afghanistan than in Iraq. Please, think it through.
1.) Why not just let the terrorists come to Afghanistan and blow the shit out of 'em there? How is Iraq necessary for such a strategy?
2.) We started a war on false pretenses, lied to the world and the American people, lost both American and Iraqi civilian lives... all for the sake of a distraction that, let's face it, is not working out all that well?
Icarusintel said:hmmm... well, it offers a great distraction for terrorists from other countries, keeps them from all coming over to america
it's bound to happen anyways, they already saw how effective 9/11 was of course they're going to attack again, but if this takes some of the legions away from those looking to attack america, then goodCptStern said:those terrorist groups didnt exist pre-invasion of iraq ...iraq galvanised generations of soldiers into fighting a common enemy ...and just to be clear ...the invasion of iraq pretty much guarantees terrorism will once again visit the US ...sooner or later it'll make 9/11 look like a cake walk in comparison
No, it's not a good tactic. With all our technology, our manpower, and our intel, we need to put on theatrics and hope that he slips up? Lord almighty...
yes but this time there's far more groups willing to attack the US ...because of iraq
