Bioshock 2 teaser site

Plus all big daddies look the same so there is nothing to say they are different attackers. Besides I only said that it could be the sub because one of the reports indicated it looked like a submarine. Not the exact words but it was something like that , it then went on to say how authorities think that there is an unlicences sub patrolling the waters.

Are you sure it's a Big Daddy doing the kidnappings?

The children of St. Lutgardis Orphanage claim that a "skinny monster" with single red glowing eye invaded their quarters...

Sounds like a new kind of splicer to me. Who knows what kind of new abilities it may have.

I think its a variant of the Big Daddy. The news reports always indicate that the attacker has a helmet on its head that emits a red light. Which is a common-trait among Big Daddy's. (Unless they are content, which it then emits a yellow light). Also, the attacker has metallic boots. Which no splicer has. Finally, and most importantly to me, the attacker always kidnaps little girls, who are all of similar age, have short, straight hair, "unusally large eyes" and overall look similar. I'm still sticking to my theory that these children are Little Sisters, especially if the teaser girl was Maura (first victim) and the doll Maura's doll.

Anyway, I'm very tempted to do another timeline and analysis with this new information, but I'm still going to wait a bit. There seems to be a daily update, (for now) but it'll (probably) stop after the sixteenth X and date.

This site will be cluttered with articles and pictures then. We can really determine what's going on then.

We already assumed it was a big sister doing the kidnappings on the other page , a big sister is a variant of a big daddy (it can be assumed they are made the same way) so I said big daddies instead , but you get the idea.

Kidnappings happening in U.S now, and at a much faster rate.

Ohshi

It also seems that the connects (Patterns) between the the red lights and the abductions have reached the public via the tabloids and that the government is taking the "investigation" a tad more seriously now, and that a Insider from the government is leaking top secret information to Mark (the Detective) in order to help him in his investigation.

Supposedly from the article.

It's 10 years since the first game. The Big Sister returns to rapture, bringing back the Little Sisters with her. You play as the original Big Daddy. You can use the drill, the rivet gun, and you can still use plasmids. Little Sisters have been given a new look to be less creepy, as you're seeing them from the eyes of their protectors. You don't get your own Little Sister from the start, as you're a renegade Big Daddy. So you fight other Big Daddies to get your own sister. You can still harvest them, but the other option has been changed to "adopt" instead of rescue. If you adopt the sister, she'll ride on your shoulders, and you can go around Rapture looking for corpses for her to collect ADAM from. When your sister goes to harvest ADAM, a wave of Splicers will come and start attacking to try and harvest her. The Big Sister is one of the surviving little sisters from the last game. She's the new ruler of Rapture, and is the main antagonist of the game. With each Big Daddy you kill, the game lets you know how close you are to incurring the wrath of the Big Sister. When you do, the little sister you're with will sing a song about how the Big Sister doesn't want you playing with her, then you get jumped. The Big Daddy drill takes the place of the wrench. Can spin, but overheats so you can't run it constantly. You can do the Big Daddy charging shoulder bash. You can heal your hacked turrets/camera bots. Incinerate upgrades let you throw fireballs and shoot a stream of fire. Cyclone trap can be hit with incinerate and become a flaming cyclone trap. Upgrade trees are more diverse to give you more unique options. When your sister goes to harvest ADAM, a wave of Splicers will come and start attacking to try and harvest her. You have to hold them off until she finishes harvesting. You gain some ADAM from this, but not enough to tide you through the game. You can permanently rescue them, but the article doesn't say how. Other info: Vita Chambers return, there is confirmed multiplayer(no details), audio logs are back, and Fontaine Futuristics is a level in the game. We get to see how ADAM gets extracted from Little Sisters for distribution.
You walk around on the sea floor outside of Rapture
Addendum: Vita Chambers aren't back in the same way as they were in the first game, but the same mechanic exists. Can be turned off.
Game is supposed to be scarier than BioShock 1

Whoa... wha?
Shit.

Edit: I'm far from excited about this. Not impressed by being back in post-Jack Rapture. Not impressed by being a Big Daddy with plasmids when Big Daddys didn't have them in BioShock. Don't really see how it's going to progress the story in any interesting way, considering your character and setting. This setup sounds more like an expansion than a continuation of the storyline. The Op Forces to BioShock's Half-Life.

I'm not feeling it. Not at all.

What does first ever Big Daddy mean if the game takes place 10 years after the original venture into Rapture?

EDIT: Whoever took those pictures should probably have taken into consideration that hundreds of people all over the internet are going to be setting eyes upon that photograph, and if that's not incentive enough to want to make sure the photo you take is good and not downright shit then I don't know what is. Just saying, like.

Sounds like crap.

Also, Big Sister 34, anyone?

Not quite as excited anymore. Bioshock is in my top 5, and this looks...not good.

It doesn't look all that bad. I just want to be faster than a Big Daddy.

This doesn't make a lick of sense.

How on earth can you be the "first Big Daddy" when the game takes place ten years after the first one. If it takes place ten years after the first game, does that mean all the info on the site is three years old? Then just how bad has it gotten then? How can a Big Daddy be "regenade?" what about his conditioning? How can he not have a Little Sister? Big Daddies were created to gaurd them!

What about Jack? Why are we playing some random Big Daddy? And, why is it that even when playing such a awesome character, it seems the game will be a carbon copy of the last one, same Rapture, same enemies, same techniques and plasmids. Everything! Are we even going to be on land? It doesn't sound like it. Which is a shame, because I was looking forward to taking the elements of Rapture and seeing the world turn upside down because of it.

But there's still a chance that these rumors are untrue, or even if they aren't, the game informer mag will clarify things and fix up the gaps. The game can still be fun even if I don't like the way it's turned. I was hoping for some real unique additions and the viral marketing had seemed promising. Well. Here's hoping for the best! I hope you guys know what you're doing 2K Marin!

I can see how playing as a big daddy could be fun but this really seems like a huge sidestep for Bioshock , as others have said wheres the story progression and why is it full of plot holes? Not only this but that article seems really fake to me , it looks like they have taken a screen shot of Bioshock 1 and photoshopped a drill onto it.

I would agree with that if it were only the first picture, but the page from the article beneath it seems really legit to me, as if it was taken straight from a Gameinformer mag. But, as I said, I'm not going to judge it until I have the mag in my hands and have read it.

And that is all folks.

The final date from the original image posted on page one, the date 9/29/96, has finally shown up on the site and with it comes just one page, a letter from Mark to Roscoe Inman, telling him that he's planning on crossing the border into St. John, (New Brunswich) because he believes that's where the next abduction will be and he hates being inactive. Sounds like a very natural ending place, promising some sort of confrontation. Well, I'll wait a day or two, to make sure they don't update with anything else, and then I'll post up my final thoughts on the whole matter.

Expect it to be long.

Edit: Oops! I forgot I was the last one to post in this thread...how do you delete replies?

Wtf... was looking forward to Bioshock 2, but this seems so ridiculous I might not even bother with it.

You cannot delete replies.
But it's okay, since it's not like you just posted 4 words and then replied to another person with another 3 words.

They claim that Bioshock 2 will be scarier as well... I find that hard to believe when you are the lumbering powerful giant that you feared in the first game.

I also don't see how they can flesh out the story in a first person game where you play as a dumb/non vocalizing, human hating beast. I am sure there won't be Audio Logs?

Did you pause to think it could look so crummy because it isn't the final art work?

I just got the article myself, and it's all very true. You play as a Big Daddy. You have a drill. You go back to Rapture, ten years after the original game. It's not quite what I expected. But...oh well.

I've Gotten rather attached to the guy trying to figure out the abductions from the website. I think It would've been better to play as HIM in BS2 (hah, BS), since it'd probably be more story driven then just the original Big Daddy.
