Irrational Games is proud to announce that BioShock Infinite will be released on October 16, 2012!

“After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition,” said Ken Levine. “BioShock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it.”

BioShock Infinite will be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC with an international release of October 19, 2012.

This doesn't make the wait any easier but at least we've got a date now. I am most definitely not a enthusiastic Irrational fan. Not at all, never was.
 
Won't be a day-one buy for me, but I hope the PC version doesn't get delayed nonetheless.

This would be a day-one purchase for me, but I want to see how bad the DRM and consolitis is first. I generally don't mind most DRM schemes, but the GFWL+Steam+SecuROM soup in Bioshock 2 was a little rough. While much consolitis going around is just an annoyance, having unfixable, undocumented input bugs may also be a deal breaker.

I see they're sticking with another modification of the Unreal engine.
 
Adabiviak brings up an important point for me, I will definitely wait and see how good the PC port is before I purchase it.

BioShock 2 is quite broken for me with mouse acceleration/smoothing you can't turn off properly and lack of gamepad support.

Then again, BioShock 2 was not developed by Irrational Games.
 
I really hope the delay to March wasn't because of this cover thing. But yeah, cool. I'm hyped as ****.
 
I don't really like any of those covers to be honest. You have a choice between cartoony nonsense, or generic covers with the two main characters...
 
I like Cover 4 quite a bit, it strikes a good balance of stylization and detail. Definitely better than all those straight-to-DVD movie covers with the characters plastered in the front.
 
Cover 6 for me, 4 is my runner-up. Glad to see those two are in the lead so far.
 
Voted for 6, because if I didn't already know something about the game, this might make me consider a purchase. You know I didn't play Half Life for many years after it came out because I somehow managed to miss all the media hype about it, and frankly those covers (Gordon's, Adrian's, and Barney's upper bodies) made the game look pretty boring (but did make for a spectacular surprise during my first playthrough). Who wants to play a rent-a-cop?
 
I voted for #2, but #4 is looking pretty good as well.
 
I am glad #4 made it, all the others except #6 are pretty lackluster. Cover #4 reminds me of how old book covers used to look before digital book cover art destroyed the exquisite and detailed books of old.
 
Not buying this until it's in the bargain bin, but voted for #4 because that shit looks nice.
