On the whole, motion is probably one of only two negative things I can say about this game... mind you, motion problems have a rather devestating effect on how much you enjoy a game, or so I feel anyway. For instance, Halo which always felt far too floaty. Same with Unreal 2. I hope they fix it.
Also, I hope they make the interface more like System Shock 2 for the PC version. The current (360) version is something like Deus Ex: Invisible War. Fine for consoles, but it entirely cuts the PC's mouse functionality out.
Ken Levine said:Frankly, I think that, whether you look at something like Half-Life or Halo, or even Oblivion, there are ways to do good interfaces that have 70 percent of their functionality work across both [PCs and consoles]. However, you do see certain games making mistakes, like not supporting the use of a mouse. Our interface will support the mouse fully and be a mouse-driven game, because who wants to play a PC game that doesn't do that?
Of course it will. This isn't amateur hour....The PC interface will be mouse driven:
Haha that's rich, Crysis better than Bioshock.
Bioshock features so much that is different to every other generic fps shooter. Mainly your free to do as you wish, you can fiddle with practicly everything in the game, awesome AI relationships and all manner of other cool things. A few people have said it looks slow, maybe becuase they're demonstrating the game in a 15 minute trailer. Your free to play it as you wish, that doesn't mean you'll live long.
QFT. It's my most wanted game by far.I'm still trying to get over your "not too original" comment. This is one of the most original FPS concepts ever.
Indeed. Oblivion struggled on the 360 in places too, and this looks to be much more demanding than that, so it will certainly be a chore getting a good solid fps out of it. That said, they have a while to go before release, so they should be able to optimize nicely. They're pros after all....Sluggish framerate, I hope they can optimize it better before release. Other than though it looks pretty damn amazing. The water looks fantastic, and I would go so far and say that it looks better than Half-Life 2.

Not really impressed. Looks pretty generic. And the graphics aren't all that good apart from the water. The models in particular are terrible. They all look like they're wrapped in cling film.
Real people have natural leathery skin and material clothes. Not baby-oil skin and plastic clothing. In this respect, Half Life 2 looks better than this.
I'd say it'll be one of those games that everyone buys and is then supremely unimpressed. Like FEAR. Except for some reason people seemed to like that.
None of us have played the game.
Only, turning enemies on each other isn't exactly as new as they claim. Nor is designing your character and weapons how you want. Nor is a large free roaming fantasy world. Hence, Crysis does more to impress me, because it looks more fun.

Excuse me dickhead but saying that Crysis IMO impresses me more than Bioshock, in no way shape or form means that I said OMFG CRYSIS WILL OWN BIOSHOCK OMFG!!!11!!
I want to know how long and how large the environments will be. I hope you're not confined to a few small coridoors/shops until you move on to the next "stage".
I'm hoping that Bioshock will emulate System Shock 1 rather than Shock 2 in that respect. The way the levels unlocked themselves in Shock 2 was actually pretty linear, because you HAD to go from Deck 2 to Deck 1 to Deck 3 to Deck 4. Only then could you choose to do Deck 5 before Deck 4, and then the rest of the game panned out sequentially again. Shock 1 had more decks, and was more freeform. Finding / enabling a new elevator system would usually give you access to 4 different decks at once. You could pretty much gain access to all but the highest realms of the station without completing one useful objective I could see why they would stop you from doing that though, since it is quite confusing to come back to the game and have to navigate your way back to the lower levels where your objectives currently are. Plus, most of the enemies on the harder decks rip the shit out of youHowever, you'll find if it's anything like System Shock played out you'll be going back and forth between various areas to achieve your tasks.
I know it's customary to flame the hell out of you simply because you're expressing negative thoughts about a game that the majority are excited about, but still I can't help but feel that saying Bioshock is "generic" is immensely misplaced (or else, you're just the type that can't stand anything as soon as you realise that other people find it popular ). There is a list of games I could write on the smallest of my fingers that resembles the gameplay style of Bioshock, even less in the way of games that chose an underwater setting, or a post-war setting. I struggle to think of a single game (or movie? book?) that combines both setting elements and then puts them in a Shooter RPG. "Generic" in this context sounds most like a clever word you learned somewhere for expressing a negative reaction to something, but you don't quite understand. Not really impressed. Looks pretty generic.
Actually, I do agree that the human models aren't all that hot. As for that actually mattering, I disagree. The animation is great, non human models are well designed and the architecture is amazing. Even if they weren't, System Shock 2 is an acute enough example of a game whose quality shone (and still does) through its 4-poly models, blurry textures and other visual quirkyness. The models in particular are terrible. They all look like they're wrapped in cling film.

Can anybody that knows more about this game explain why Rapture is in ruin?
If these were the best minds and best people of the world why are they struggling to survive and wtf happened to make this place go to shit?
EDIT: Also, how are armor piercing bullets way less effective bullets to take somebody down? Whatever...
Yah I did a long time ago but that was just cause my friend had it so I played it on his computer. I never played it for an extended amount of time or anything.
You expressed your opinion and I expressed mine. It's not my fault if you feel insulted. What you wrote made honestly made me laugh, I'm sure you have your reasons for liking Crysis more.
In my opinion Crysis will be a big flop just like Far Cry was. Also in my opinion Bioshock stands to be more of a success due to all of the great features it boasts including how it's meant as a successor to the great System Shock. Crysis seems to boast Hype and pretty jungles.
Usually theres a problem you need to solve to get to the next area. However, you'll find if it's anything like System Shock played out you'll be going back and forth between various areas to achieve your tasks.
