Black Friday Deals

Not really seeing anything I want to get, but I may take the bus out to the shopping area/Best Buy just for lack of anything better to do. Maybe pick up some of the video games that I missed over the past few years. Is Stalker worth getting for $4.99?
 
^I got an entire pre-built computer setup, with monitor for $200 dollars on black friday in November 2004. (at Best Buy)

Then I bought Half Life2 and joined here in February 2005.

Also, Assassins Creed is only 5 bucks too. Guess I'll pick that up.

Haha, ok, guess I might get it then. Hopefully my laptop can actually run it without dying.

After watching my friend play Assassins Creed on his xbox for several hours, I have no desire to play it.
 
I think I saw that Best Buy will have a $150 Acer netbook.

If I was rich, I'd buy computer parts just to smash them, but first I'd gather crowds of poor people to watch in disbelief.

I'd go to the Half Price Books sale (both for the books and the occasional cheap video game finds) but there isn't one anywhere near me in this darn city. I'm constantly frustrated by the lack of big stores anywhere in the main part of town. The only thing near me is two blocks of rich-people shops.
 
http://bfads.net/ is also a good resource for Black Friday deals. I don't know what I'm going to get, maybe a laptop or Blu-Ray player. I just don't get why some blu-ray players are $99 and some $200.

this is really good site for new, used, and previously viewed games/movies/books/trends. I bought about $200 worth of stuff from them this past few months and highly recommend them.

Also if your not one to shop on Black Friday, online deals are almost just as good and you can shop in your PJs or naked!
 
I've got a 1 GB and 512 MB pc2700 SODIMM stick of ram for cheap if anybody needs that particular laptop memory.

I have a friend who does that. Once stuck a whole crap-ton of 1GB ram sticks in a pot and set them on fire. Other things, he just takes a sledgehammer to. Not just computer parts, also video game consoles, digital cameras, cellphones...any kind of thing he doesn't want or has become obsolete, or if it's giving him a hassle he just says "Fuck this thing" and smashes it.

I would definitely enjoy putting a PS3 in a wood chipper.

But I've been taking apart obsolete electronics since I was like 7. I was electrocuted at like 7 as well. I got the interest from my oldest brother, who was an electronic technician at the time.
 
Blu ray is THE upgrade. Actually in another tab I'm on another board where the OP convinced me, through posting screencaps of a blu ray movie, that I need the blu ray of it. Even though I have that very same movie in several different formats and collector's editions already, I NEED the blu ray. It's so high def. It's glorious.

And yeah according to google there are blu ray burners. I'm actually surprised.

canada's having a few black friday deals even though we dont have black friday in canada we have Boxing day (day after christmas)

newegg.ca, canadacomputers and ncix have some awesome deals today/tommorrow

oh man, Borderlands is $20 and L4D2 is only $30 now! feel sorry for those who bought it at full retail price
 
I wonder if borderlands will have that sale on steam tomorrow? I want to get it for that price, but I'd rather get it on Steam. But im afraid Amazon might sell out before the next deals show up on steam. Shit! WHAT DO I DO?!?!
