Argh, i hate this flashonly-crap!!!

Im filtering flash (mostly ands and bullshit) and have no flashplugin installed.
Hate it, dont need and from my point of view (i am a webdeveloper) it's useless.
 
Yes, as has been mentioned: this is one of two media releases this month. We wanted to be a little more exposed this month and decided that the HDR shot deserved its own media update. This way, we could pumble you with all the information on happenings with a little peak of media, then pumble you with media and you could easily ignore the words.

I read a comment on this thread replying to a comment another member gave. It was something like:

I redid them four times over in Hammer by hand! All in all the displacement maps have taken about a month =[

You guys nailed the Hoover Dam reference, haha. I spent a day or two hunting around for as many reference pictures I could find before modelling the dam and the surroundings. This level has actually gone through about four different redesigns from my induction onto the team in April, this being the final product. It's gotten bigger and bigger each time, too =]
 
Hell, what kind of dam is it if it doesn't look like Hoover dam?

I figured it was modeled after it, I've been to the real one and it looked startlingly familiar...
 
How should we get the game?
btw, is it really only done 30%? someone said it's a year to go till it's finished, if true, it should be more than 30%, right?
 
When we say 30%, that was several months ago. Is it more? Perhaps, but in that number we also take into account changes and development that will be done due to beta-testing.
 
great, i got an answer for 30% thing,
but, how are you planning to publish the game, like how should i get it when it's released?
(i ask cause i don't think i could download it with a 56k dial-up)

Heil = German (And Dutch)
Hail = English
 
With red text that size supporting it, what mod wouldn't be fun! :/
 
It's a pity that it's not actually Half life 1 in source graphics but even so it could have potential
 
You really can't make an identical HL1 with source graphics, it wouldn't work, you have to expand the areas and improvise a little to make it Source quality.

Once you've got BM:S you'll realise how similiar everything is still to the original, just on a bigger scale.
 
Well as long as there isn't too many extras, the public won't like that and as long as the storyline is not changed there is no risk of failure.
 
i saw a combine first aid and charger in their pics, hope they don't use them in the actual game... btw there's an old blackmesa charger cover in HL2, it made me go numb for 5 min, feeling the memories of HL1, being put into HL2...
 
Yeah we've had to use a few placeholders from HL2 and CSS for now while we have our own made. They won't be there at release time I assure you.

Sorry but we really don't want to even try estimate a release date, we honestly don't know ourselves, we'd like to get quite close to it before contemplating announcing a date. Apologies but this really isn't something we can answer for a while yet.
