True, but it deserves the attention and it's been a long ride since 2001. I can't stress for the millionth time to get that HD version people. Not only the visuals have been cleaned up, but you got the new 5.1 or whatever surround sound. So take a word of advice from Ridley! :cheese:
 
So I picked up the two-disc version yesterday just because I could. I have tried two or three times now to get into Blade Runner through our old VHS copy and I simply haven't been able to. It's sad, because the film has such a good setting, story, plot, use of characters and what not and it's everything I like in those terms I've just... never been able to get into it. Hopefully now, with this revamped version I'll be able to.

EDIT: Box art is sexy as ****, btw. Seriously, love it.

Let me give you just a couple examples of some of the things you're going to see: Turns out Deckard had a wife, who now lives in one of the off-world colonies - you see a photo of her and Deckard together (it's worth noting that they're standing on a porch that's very similar to the one in Rachel's photograph of herself with her mother - consider the implications of that). There's also a brief scene, after Batty has killed Tyrell, where he gets back into the elevator and he's shaking - he's clearly disturbed at what he's just done. The elevator announces the floor in a computerized female voice, and Batty looks up at the speaker and says "Mom?" in this sort of child-like daze. Rutger Hauer's performance is just perfect. There's even two alternate endings, in which Deckard and Rachel have dialogue while driving off in Deckard's car. And this is all just scratching the surface. I'm telling you, this stuff is absolutely amazing. If you think you know everything there is to know about Blade Runner, you're in for a real shock. Keep in mind, every bit of this footage was shot by Ridley Scott in his prime, so it's just gorgeous. It's even presented in anamorphic widescreen. My head is still spinning over it all.

New commercials are out that I saw in between finals on SpikeTV. Coming out Tuesday and not much else I can say. The movie is on the pirating sites and just to give you an idea of how much the video has been cleaned up:

Alternatively just go to Stage6 and search for 'Blade Runner', arranging by date. :eek:

Can't imagine it'll be up for long mind. I'm definitely gonna try and get this for crimbo though.

Shhh! :D Well it was on there but I know of a site that just displays the links from there. Anyways it's down now. Still widely on the pirating networks.
 
I just back from bestbuy 30 minutes ago and purchased the 4-disc version, regular dvd format. I was looking for it on Blu-Ray, there was 5 left but, nobody not even the employees could find any in their designated location... it was mainly a spur of the moment purchase so i'm okay with the version I got.
 
Sweet. If it wasn't 2:43 AM I would go buy it right now.
 
Just got it, and watched Blade Runner for the first time.

It was alright, a pretty well made movie, but I just couldn't get over how much they raped the original story.
 
It's based off the book, not a film version of the book persay.
 
They complement each other. I got it for Christmas actually. Amazon was slow on shipping it to my uncle and they told him to order again. So they paid for everything but he had to pay for 1/2 the shipping price. :x He got 2 suitcases and he's currently trying to keep both of them. The spinner is cheap. Dangerous Days and the Deleted Scenes are in DVD format. Some of the deleted scenes blew me away and the extended love scene for some reason felt like it was more concentual than rape. There was 2 holden scenes and it got pretty wacky. Holden was like "did you **** her?" Deck "what? (with a smirk)." Holden "You ****ed the snake lady. You stuck it in". Then he starts laughing all goofy like (morphine having its effects possibly). Then he says "you stuck it in didn't you?" "I can't believe you made out with a washing machine". Then they pan out and Gaff and the police captain are watching this on a video. Gaff asks for a raise. Can't remember it all but God was mentioned and the police captain is awestruck at the word like "God?! wtf". Then Gaff is like "I spit on metaphysics sir". There is a whole bunch of stuff on it. I still gotta get an HD player to see the 3 other discs. *Oh my uncle has a projector. Yeaaaaaa it was nice. Sitting on a couch with a recliner and watching Dangerous Days and the deleted scenes.
 
I got the UK 5-dsic version in the tin box thingy. The discs had some foreign writing on them so I was worried I had a dodgy version, but they're English when viewing and the booklet with the disc details is in English too. Anyone else get that?
 
They say that number 2019 went out to the public. 1 went to Ridley himself himself and 2 went to Bladezone.com chief head guy. Did a lot of work on the cut so he deserves it. I got 87,561 of 103,000.
