Block Shaping

I would like to convert a block into pentagon or octagon, or any shape that is more than 4 sides? Is there an easier way than using the vertex tool or is that all I have to work with? Thanks!

clip it. or make a cylinder with that many faces.

Yeah, just set a cylinder to five or eight sides.

I suppose using the cylinder tool would be best, although clipping comes in second only because it takes a bit more time
