Blood sprites?

Hey guys

I was not sure where to put this thread but neway, I'm looking for a way to open *.vmt files and *.vtf files because I'm trying to bring some modifications to the blood sprays in CS:S. Someone knows which sprite or particle is the bloodspray and how to edit it?

Edit: Ok i found the blood spray, now i need to find a way to convert de .vtf to an editable form.. Someone has a clue?

Well to convert the *.vtf files I used a program called: VTEX

and the blood sprays are in hl2/materials/effects/blood_core.vtf

This is what i have found so far, I'm trying to do a more realistic blood mod but it does not seem to work so well right now. I'm still working on it.

On a side note, is that a Nordiques emblem as your avatar? I'm guessing yes since it looks ALLOT like it.........that and you have yourself being from Quebec

Newton: Yeah that's the Nordiques emblem, since I come from Quebec, I can't forget the team that once played for us and yeah I'm upset they went to Colorado but I still consider the Avalanches the Nordiques

Glo: I was not able to open the VTF files, Just convert them with VTEX.

VTM files are just a "guide" that tells how the vtf files have to work (i think). You can view de VTM files with Notepad

i simply can not find the blood vtf. perhaps this is an old forum talking about the beta? i have searched my steam folder only to find a very minimal ammount of .vtf files- none of which containing the word blood. most were actually named alphanumerically with some sort of possible order. one example is 788666c0.vtf. is it possible that the blood sprite isnt actually a .vtf? please help if you can
